I've read in a couple of posts and timelines about checklists. Not really sure what exactly is being referenced? Does this have to do with the Adam Walsh check? Can someone shed some light? I am new at the DCF process as we filed for a fiance visa and decided to DCF instead recently.

Thanks!

In my case (I do DCF in person, not mail), checklist was a yellow/orange paper that the Embassy gave it to me to fax it back in the moment I am ready with all the documents from that "checklist".

The checklist is to ensure you have all your documents in order. You get this with Packet 3 (someone correct me if i'm wrong), return it to the embassy to let them know you are ready for your interview.

Thanks for the info. Guess I am still confused! I mailed our I-130 yesterday and the embassy contacted me today to schedule an interview. I guess every embassy can operate differently. We haven't gotten anything in the mail yet with required documents for the interview...maybe they will sent this to me. I did send an email to my contact at the embassy confirming the interview and asked what we needed to bring.

I THINK I have gathered all the needed docs... just need one more that should be here soon.

Thanks!

You are correct. Checklist (which varies from Consulate to Consulate, mind you wacko.gif ) arrives with packet 3. When you get it, follow the instructions as if they were God's words. You can by all means begin to gather documents (i.e. birth certificates, marriage/divorce certificates, police certificates, translations, etc.).
Good luck in your process and keep us posted!!! I am sure you will also find lots of help in the Regional forum corresponding to the place you live.
Best, Len, the magnificent (ok, I'm happy today, so gimme a break). whistling.gif

I believe this is the checklist. It may very from country to country but the basics should be the same.

I'm not sure if someone could put a sticky on this or place it in the downloadable forms since many applicants ask about the checklist.
