ugh sorry you're going through that.... sad.gif i can't imagine your frustration! i hope someone here has advice for you!

Dee, the phone number to the embassy is 090070600. I believe it would be 201 country/city code. I'm not going to tell you that they will be of much help though. I hope your husband gets his packet 3 soon.
Together4ever
I understand your frustration. The best thing you can do is email the Embassy regarding status and be patient. I know that doesn't do much to cool the anger (been there a bazillion times) but its all you can do. Calling the Embassy will get you pretty much nowhere. They do eventually answer emails. Eventually. Be wary of emailing too much. In the froth of my anxiety I was emailing every 2 days and received a request to STOP emailing. I cooled it a few weeks and again emailed for status. This is just the beginning of your dealings with the Embassy. Try to remain as calm as possible and focus elsewhere in your life if you can or it will make you insane. Take it from a now-full-fledged-pill-popper with anxiety attack problems all thanks to this stupid process. Don't do it to yourself. You will get through the process, there is an end, it just takes patience. And when your SO does arrive, you will need your wits to deal with his transition. Trust me.

I've never called there myself but my husband has and that's the number he calls. Of course he calls it as I posted it previously. Maybe try 20190070600. That seems like the correct amount of numbers.

Even when they do talk to you, embassies are confoundingly inane.

If they said "would mail it out" they give no indication of when exactly and believe me I am no fan of their inane replies. However, its good you're staying on top of things. It almost appears as a screw up that they would mark it open and sent on the day of your reply. Just don't let it make you crazy.

Didn't someone on here say they asked to just mail the Packet 3 to the embassy... and they printed out the Email reply from the Embassy saying that it was ok... and they mailed it in???

We were in a similar situation with Casa two years ago. I ended up getting a Senator involved and the consulate miraculously sent the packet. I know how frustrating what you are going through can be. We didn't know what the heck to do either because Casa would only reply with a fricken attachment to an email (never a real answer). It seemed as if the Earth (and the pile our petition was in) moved by the power of the Senator.

I wish you the best and all the patience in the world in deal with these NA consulates.

Deema......I feel for you.......believe me.....this whole process is driving me nuts too.

Make sure when you email them that you put the case # in the subject line or they won't reply.

Also, is it possible for your husband to go to the embassy and request the packet 3 documents just as those who are filing in egypt do.....if he lives on the outskirts of Cairo it might be a trip but it might be worth it.

For those of you that have gotten a Packet 3... is there anything Special in it?? ir just the standard list of what you need to mail back???

Did you ever email the consulate with your case # in the subject line and ask them whether or not you can send in all of the documents since you have never received a packet 3 this long after a file was opened......whenever I've sent an email with the case # in the subject line, I 've gotten a reply.

If he filled out the DS156 & 157 and you sent him the I134 with the proof of support documents and he has all of his documents (birth certificate, police cert., military cert., marriage cert., etc.) and he did the medical already......check with the embassy and see if you can send in your stuff cuz......believe me.......the wait time for an interview is long and you don't want to waste any time unnecessarily.....

ask.....what do you have to lose?

I have been through this before myself. if you look at my timeline on here you can see that this happened to me and my fiance too. They lost his packet 3 in the mail they stated that his address was wrong. We wiated 2 months to get packet 3 . Finally after emailing them and they updated his correct address we got it. Also calling them is a waiste they only will respond to emails. The Embassy had told me that once they mailed packet 3 for the second time if he didn't get it then he could go to the Cairo Embassy and pick one up there from one of the security guards. As far as downloading the packet i was going to do that do i was told by the Embassy that i couldn't I would have to wiat until they sent it to him. But that what happens with Cairo they are very unorganized. I hope i helped.

Becky&Sam
I hope they reply to your email quickly. Dealing with this embassy is just so frustrating, but try to keep calm and keep it in perspective that it will get worked out and you will get the packet.........eventually!!! I know I have reached my frustration point and meltdown with this part of the process dealing with the embassy. There is virtually no communication with them except by email. Even when I was visiting in Feb we tried to see someone about the status of Sam's visa and no luck at all, just the run around from everybody we talked to.

Hope they will let you go ahead and send in the way you have it, but dealing with Cairo you never know.

moody
Dee, I would not advise that you jump the gun on this. I would wait until your husband gets his packet 3. You really don't want to be messing with Cairo.
Together4ever
To be honest, I agree with Moody on this. Not only do they not like to be pushed, but stepping outside of standard operating procedures (whether competent or not) is leaving you wide open for confusion, lost documents, etc.
