is packet 3 sent directly to our fiance or can they pick it up?
SanFrancisco-BKK
Ussually it is send to fiance, but I've heard that in some countries it can be picked up at embassy. Bangkok told me that they mail packet 3 to both petitioner and beneficiary. So far only beneficiary recived Packet 3.

Be advised that different embassy have sligthly different paperwork in their Packet 3.

yes.gif Each embassy is different - check out the 'embassy info' link at the top of the forum and find yours.

AlienUKGirl's posts are relevant to London.

Ooh my fiance just called - he got packet 3 today! dancin5hr.gif

Sanfrancisco-BKK,

If this is true it is a very recent change of procedure at the Bangkok consulate.

I just finished compiling my forms and getting my docs and copies together. I've arranged appointments for my GP to get vaccination records and my medical is set for 20th April. Today, when the post office opens I'm sending back all they need.

Can I just say, doing the packet 3 requirements is a swine!! LOL
On each of the DS forms they assign an amount of "burden" time, (time they think will be approximate for you to collect the data needed and fill it in). Each of 1 hour. Poppycock! LOL I spent about 6 hours yesterday and another 3 today doing it. But it all looks good and is complete. A great feeling of satisfaction having the addressed envelope ready to send back. smile.gif

Ugh - this is an excellent post and an excellent example of one that - in my opinion - should've STAYED in the UK forum where I believe it was originally posted. I don't know how I missed it when it first was posted!

Thanks so much for posting these scans! Seem to be the most current packet 3 London copies around VJ. I'm hoping we'll get our soon, but the more prep work the better!
Tommy&Dawny
Indeed. Thanks tons for posting the entire contents of the Packet 3, Alien!!! I've been wondering for weeks what exactly the entire packet contains, and you put some questions to rest!!

GL in the next step!

Great post. Thanks Alien for taking the time to do it!

Does anyone on the board know if the package is mostly the same for the different consulates?
TimsDaisy
I think they are similar, but the differences can come with regard to what sort of financial information is preferred, etc.

(That's why I thought this post would've been better left in the UK forum where it first tried to belong!)

No probs smile.gif
Trying to give back even an iota of what I've got from this site smile.gif

Yes, I thought was more suited to the UK forum, but obviously the powers that be had a different opinion....

I was thinking that I had originally seen it in the UK forum. Agreed.
