hi to everyone..i just got married yesterday..yipeeeee!!! soon me and my husband will be filling my AOS..i just want to ask how much is the fee for the AOS and EAD?how long will it take for me to wait before i could have my green card and EAD. and also pls enlighten me do i really need to file for EAD for me to be able to work or having a greencard can let me work legally.

You need EAD to work or your green card, congrats on your marriage EAD could take up to 90 days to get, but AOS could take longer. Right now, we filed both EAD/AOS in Feb and we have not been approved for either....we are patiently waiting.

It is difficult to predict how long the AOs process will take. Some receive the greencard in 3-4 months other will wait more than a year. Once you have the green card, you do not need the EAD. The EAd takes typically 2-4 months to process. Filing for the EAD with the AOS is like taking an insurance policy out. If the green card takes a long time, then you have permission to work. If you do not need to work and can wait for the Greencard, it is not necessary to apply for both.

ohh..thanks for the replies..i wanna ask again is it true that the fees in AOS will be increasing this year? when and how much will it increase?

If I am not mistaken, I believe that the fees could change in 2008.....I read that somewhere
