Hello everyone!

We filed our I-751 a few weeks ago (no NOA1 yet) and after reading this forum we realized that we should have attached letters from friends to our petition. We supported our application with a whole bunch of different documents such as a life and health insurance, joint income tax returns for the past 3 years, credit cards (5) and statements (old and most recent ones), 2 checking accounts - letters from our banks and bank statements (again, old and most recent ones), utility bills on both names, cell phone bills (family plan), home computer purchase receipt, a ticket from my wife's trip to Europe to see me (when I was in the process of getting my CR1), our tickets and hotel receipts from our vacation, about 15 photographs taken both in the US and Europe (including photos with friends) etc., but we did not include letters from friends. Is that a real problem? Please help! We are concerned now.

Another question, my wife has heard somewhere that those who initially came to the US on CR1 visas are almost certain to be called for the interview (since the couple initially was not interviewed jointly, US citizen spouse did not participate). Is that true?

Thanks!

I do not believe that it is a certainty that you will be called for an interview since your are here with a CR-1, but they may send you a letter asking for additional information (such as letters from friends). It may be a good idea to get the letter now in anticipation of the request.

Good luck.

Affidavits from people who know you as a couple are NOT required. We submitted our package without them and were approved without interview.

My husband entered with an immigrant visa (CR-1) and was not required to interview. I think that is a false rumor.

Try not to worry. smile.gif
