anyone with K1 / K3 experiences from Moscow, Russia?
I noticed that it takes about 2 months from the date they receive a petition from NVC to Interview date.
What gives? Other embassies are a lot faster...........
Turboguy
Yes, and some are a lot slower too. With Moscow you will find that you have the packet before it appears on the interview schedule they have on the internet. Another plus for Moscow is that they combine packet 3 and 4 and that saves you some time.

On my first K-1 I had a friend who had a fiancee from Ukraine, mine was from Russia. I had gained two weeks on him in the NOA-phase but lost 3 at the Embassy level.

Thanks for the info, Turboguy. I appreciate it.
So if they combine packet 3 and 4, does it mean nothing has to be sent back to the Embassy before the interview?

Turboguy
That is correct. When packet 3/4 arrives it will have a list of things you need and include the interview date. If for some reason you can not be ready by that date then call the embassy and they will reschedule the interview.

I would suggest as soon as you get the notice from the NVC that your packet has been sent to the Moscow Embassy that she gets her police report. Sometimes it takes a while and if she waits until she gets her packet she may not have enough time.

There are two medical centers in Moscow for the medical. One charges $ 100.00 and has the results the next morning. The other charges $ 80.00 and you can get the results the next day. The one that charges $ 100.00 is supposed to be much more polite and the nicer of the two. I would recognize which is which if I saw the names but I believe A O Medico is one of the names or close and that is the $ 80.00 one.

She will need a pre-paid mailer from DHL to have with her at the interview. There are two DHL places in Moscow. The main one is somewhere in the center. The branch is right next to the embassy. To the right of the entrance you use for the interview sitting back is a shopping center. The DHL branch is in the shopping center down on the basement floor. There are signs.

Thanks again. Very useful info. Is the medical center you mentioned "AO "MEDITSINA"?
My husband already started on obtaining police certs. Hopefully he gets them before his interview. Hope I can ask you questions as we go through this process.
Good luck to you.....
Turboguy
You can ask me anything any time. I will be happy to help when I can. The way things are going for me I will still be here patiently waiting as you celebrate your 10th aniversary of being together in America. whistling.gif

Yes, that is the $ 80.00 one.

I really hope things work out for you soon.
I've been lucky so far....hope it keeps going at the same rate......
here are the list of clinics off the embassy in moscow web site:
AO "MEDITSINA"
FILATOV CLINIC
INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MIGRATION (IOM)

which one is the "more polite and nicer" one?
Turboguy
AO "MEDITSINA"
FILATOV CLINIC
INTERNATIONAL ORGANIZATION FOR MIGRATION (IOM)

Looking at the three names refreshes my memory a bit. AO Medissina is the $ 100.00 that is nice. I have not been inside but have been in front of it and it is a nice modern looking place.

IOM is the $ 80, rude one that is fast.

Filatov as I remember is in Vladivstok so unless that is close is not one you would want to consider.
