To Captain Ewok,

First of all, thank you for adding the Ankara, Embassy. I am sure it will be helpful to those who are still awaiting their interviews. It has already been updated with much information......some by me.....most by NY_IZMIR.

I am not sure how much the other members from Turkey would agree, however, I personally do not feel that the Istanbul Consulate should be listed. If you notice, at this time, it has not been updated at all, because the majority of the questions and information do not apply to it. Unlike the Ankara, Embassy.....the Consulate in Istanbul only does non-immigrant visa....such as tourist visas, work visas, student visas etc.

By having it listed, it might actually confuse some members who are applying for immigrant visas through Turkey.

I realize when the request to add the Ankara Embassy was first posted, it might have been misunderstood that the Istanbul Consulate also does immigrant visas, ....and much like other countries which have more than one Embassy for applicants to process their visas (such as India and Canada)....it made it appear that there were 2 in Turkey that process immigrant visas. However, Turkey does NOT have 2 Embassies which process the immigrant visas..............they only have one. (Ankara)

Since I am pretty sure you want the Embassies listed to be the ones that handle the kinds of visas that the majority of the people are applying for, on this website, I am not sure that the Istanbul Consulate fits that model.

For example....most of these question below can not be filled out...since they don't apply.

Approx Waiting Time for interview date from when the Consulate receives the package from the NVC:
Issues a Packet 3?
Packet 3 Contains:
Issues a Packet 4?
Packet 4 contents (if known):
What forms should be send back to the Consulate?
Other Forms (if any)?
Consulate offers Direct Consular Filing?
If so, for all or only for US citizen who is lawfully resident in your country?
Can fiance(e)/spouse attend the interview?
Visa fee payment "same day" or "in advance"?
Did the embassy schedule your interview or could you walk-in?
Visa issued same day?
If not whats the waiting period?
Is the Medical exam same day as interview?
Cost of Medical Exam?
List of doctors?
How many Passport Photo's Required for the medical?
How many Passport Photo's Required at the interview?
Estimated waiting time at the consulate on the day of interview?
Vaccination requirements?

So, I am making the suggestion that you might want to remove the Istanbul Consulate.............if for anything, just to avoid confusion among members.

The other members from Turkey might disagree....and I am willing to fill out the information for what I can in regards to the Istanbul Consulate if you feel it's a good idea to keep it listed. I have been to that Consulate several times, and could add whatever I can.

I just personally don't feel it belongs.................and wanted to let you know of the nature of that Consulate, which does not adjudicate much of the kind of visas that Ankara does.

It appears to be the only one in the entire "Embassy Info" section of this website, of its type.

Thanks good.gif

Captain Ewok,

If you could add Tel Aviv's Embassy it would be a great asset. There is only Jerusalem and only OLD profile on file. If you can please add Tel Aviv.

Thanks.

'MPGGPM' is correct - Istambul (and Ankara) were only recently added (within the last 2 weeks I think) - I believe Istambul did process imigrant visas at one point but their website says:

The Immigrant Visa Unit which is now consolidated into the American Embassy in Ankara, processes all immigrant visa cases for Turkey. This unit also processes Diversity Visa Lottery winners.
