Depending on quotas for specific countries.. waiting time for a visa for a sibling could be 10+ years

Those getting interviews now were applied for 12 year ago.

Going forward, who knows, one of the Comprehensive Immigration Reform bills would do away with this category.

Hi

I've been waiting for for 2 years for a visa number to become available. If you look over the last 18 months you will see that the processing date hasnt changed when all other categories have.
My sister is now getting her Senator to try and find out why this hasnt moved, she lives in Florida.

Better asking an Immigration Lawyer, but there are plenty of resources on the web as well.

Anyway best thing is to get on with your life and take a view when a visa number becomes available.

I know what these wait times are like for Family Members. I have been waiting 8 Years for F3.
I think F4 is around 11-12 Years! Don't waste your time writing to Congressmen. I wrote to Senator John McCain years ago, and although He was very helpful and concerned, he was also bound by strict Immigration law. There's no short cuts I'm afraid. Just hang in there and Good Luck!
