I'm doing my taxes right now -- 3 years' worth as I never realised I was supposed to be doing them during the 11 years I've lived in the UK -- and I just did the 2555EZ. I checked on the London Embassy website for more guidance about the question you raise as I too was confused. The website says:

My British employer did not give me a Form W-2. Is that a problem?
Not at all. W-2s are used primarily to verify Federal Income Tax Withheld from wages, which is not done by British employers. Therefore, it is not necessary to attach any wage statement other than Form W-2 to your U.S. tax return.

I assume that this is not specific to the UK, but I may be wrong. The instruction booklet for the 2555EZ also doesn't mention anything about attaching slips or translations. Wonder how they determine you're telling the truth then when you state your non-US income? blink.gif
