When were at SLEC and waiting for our turns to be called I heard their calling out "Lira Luz pls proceed to 2nd floor for vaccination" I told myself " I know that name" and started looking for her and there she was, friendly and nice, I approached her and introduced myself then the chit chat started lol.

BTW, we went to Baguio for a few days. It was horrible. It was the absolute worst pollution I have every encountered. It was 10 times worse than Manila at it worst several years ago. I have been to Baguio before the pollution and it was a beautiful city and a lovely place to visit but if you can't breathe except while holding a handkerchef over your nose it is not so lovely any more.

Surigao on the other hand was absolutely fantastic. Although it is summer and very dry in most of the PI, it rained every day we were there but only rain showers.

You said Baguio was very polluted. Lina and I were planning to go there while waiting for the visa to be delivered. Is it bad everywhere in Baguio or just certain areas to avoid?

Hi Guys, sorry it took so long to reply. We came into POE Detroit last Friday and have been "busy" ever since.

It was polluted almost everywhere except Camp John Hay. Baguio is such a beautiful city it is a shame to pollute it like that.

Gra finally found a hotel room at the Palladin Hotel. It was comfortable and resonable as well as clean. No elevators but it was ok. They also had a free massage which was ok but I wouldn't pay for it seperately.

Yeah, we definitely got the run around on the visa, but thank God we got it and everything worked out ok.

We came thru Detroit as POE. Gra was in one line and I was in another. It didn't take long for me to get thru but it took about an hour for her to get thru as she was taken to a seperate area for "interview". While she was there the computers went down and they had a problem for awhile which was the reason it took so long for her to get thru. One lady asked her questions, one of which is "do you have any food that you brought in?" Gra replied that she did not have any food at which the lady said, "if we find food you are done". Gra was very nervous as the lady was very intimidating and threatening. Obviously everything was ok and we finally got out of there.

As we were awaiting our flight to OKC Gra had her first culture shock and told me she had never seen so many white people and black people and so many speaking english ALL the time. haha She wanted to see more brown people.

Gra seems to be adjusting very well and has met some of my family and friends. She cooked rice almost as soon as we came home from the airport. lol

Congratulations to everyone that has had approvals lately. As for us it is time for us to investigate the AOS thing.

Just a heads up. If you are entering together at POE you can go through the same line together for USC's and LPR's. At LAX I simply told the man directing people that I was USC and had my fiance with me on K-1 and he directed me to the correct line. No problems. Customs officer was a nice guy.

hello everyone, we got back to the states on may 4th. our POE was LAX. going through immigration was painless for my fiancee. she lined up at the vistor's line and i stood back and wait for her to clear that. it took about 10 mins with the immigration officer as she was flipping through the paperwork and making small chitchat with my fiancee. after i saw her finish up there i went to the US citizens line and got through that in less than a minute. customs was easy also as we didn't bring any food and they just waived us through. we're just getting over our jet lag and she's adjusting very well. we're currently cleaning up a house we're going to move into as i look for a permanent job in my accounting field im in. then we'll start filing our AOS when we get married on 7/07/07

Second, I just got home from the Phils. Had a great time with Mirasol as always and really hated to go. Somehow this time it was not as hard because I know she will be coming home soon. In fact, when I text her to tell her I landed safely in San Francisco tonight, she text me back that she got a text from Delbros that her visa will be delivered this week! WOOHOOO!!!!!

I guess I am just a big baby cuz I nearly cried when I read this reply from Delbros. I can't believe its really true. No "AR Jail", no more waiting, no more interviews on pins and needles.....simply put, my baby is coming home now!!!!!

It's our dream come true.

It's been a long almost four years that we have been waiting for this day. We had a longer journey than most cuz of Mir's annulment. It seemed that every time we thought the annulment would be granted, there were more delays. Then waiting through the USCIS petition and Embassy visa application/interview process seemed quick, but still took forever. We're so very glad this part of our life is over and we can get down to spending the rest of it together

No exact date for travel yet, but it will be very soon. Going to start looking for a plane ticket now.

Thank you again to all those that helped us along the way. Take care and God bless to all who continue the journey and to those that have started the next chapter in living together in the US.

Hi Scott! I have a vonage in our house too, nobody called for follow up or anything like that. And the $25 monthly fee is automatically charged on Byron's credit card. I even call their customer service whenever I have questions about the vonage and their services.

Hi PW, after Byron got his dissolution paper we really intend kase to get married here, so we have all those paper work but we didnt use it because we changed our plans and figured that K1 is faster than K3. Thanks for the advice I'll be taking those out on my folder now cuz it might just put me on AR.

If that is the case, I suggest you bring na rin the documents you mentioned but keep it separate from your other documents. If possible, put them in a sealed brown envelop so even if you accidentally drop them, it stays sealed and nobody would see it.

I am sure the embassy has a record of Byron's request for legal capacity to marry and if embassy timing was perfect when they were doing marriage index/background check for you, the marriage license would have popped up so be prepared to answer trick questions. If legal capacity or marriage license comes up during the interview, do not deny it. They might even ask you if you still have the original capacity and license (proof that they were not used) that's why I suggest that you bring it na rin. Explain that you both figured that K1 is faster than K3 so you decided not to marry. You should be all right.

It may be the exception rather than the rule, but I've heard a few say they received their visa on Saturday, and even one on a Sunday. Guess it's possible, probably not when you really need it though...

Hi James Michelle! We had our medical last month, we did it early, yeah I was nervous then but we passed through it. I'll suggest you bring a lot of snacks for your son. My son just turned 3 yrs old and yeah you guessed it I and our yaya was chasing him all the time. Praying do really helps, I hope everything goes well in your medical
