For the Medical Exam at SLEC:

What to bring:

1. Appointment Letter
2. Passport
3. Passport Photos (3 copies and they must be 2x2 inches: see page 8 of Packet 4)
4. Payment of $95 USD (paid in pesos / $95 USD equivalent)
5. Ballpoint Pen
6. Tissue
7. Sweater or Jacket (SLEC is air conditioned and cold)

NOTE: Beneficiaries please bring or know your sponsor's personal infomation (address, phone number, and ssn #) for the SLEC forms. Don't be alarmed because the beneficiary's passport will be taken at SLEC and delivered to the USE along with your medical exam results prior to the visa interview. Beneficiaries please eat beforehand because SLEC prohibits food or drinks inside of the facility. Guest(s) and family member(s), except the beneficiaries child(ren), will NOT be permitted inside of SLEC. REMEMBER - The medical exam is a two day process. Day 1 is the medical exam and Day 2 is the vaccination. At the end of Day 2, SLEC will give the beneficiary their X-ray film and the vaccination worksheet/record (DS-3025).

HI Gracy_Byron! I don't know where you guys are located but base on your profile you have the California USCIS office so I am guessing you are in California Try TRAVELFAST INTERNATIONAL/MANGO TOURS. Hello All,

As we have a few well versed immigration people in this forum, I was wondered if anyone had an explanation for the following:

Looking through the K1 visa timelines I noticed that two of them, one filed at the CSC and the other at NCS recieved there K1 NOA2 approval within one week of getting there NOA2, both were for Cuban spouses. Now we all know that vermont can get some of them threw in two weeks because they have only a small portion of all K1's filed across country and california takes 3-5 months on average.

So why did two K1's for cuban beneficiaries able to get through california in under a week? I have seen no others that even come close to that going through CSC. Is there special policies for immigrants from certian countries?

Congrats to all those done, and those still waiting, and to those who have run into hurdles, may the Hands of God help them thru their times of sorrow, and find their way to being together. Just wanted to also post Rose's Interview info. Pretty basic, and standard as I see it, but just so you can see they are basically kind, and forthright in their approach.Just thought I would let you know as you seen that Rose is good to go now, and awaiting Delbros to deliver her Visa. Then on to the CFO Seminar to get her stamp on her Visa, and her appointment to inform her on entrance into the US at the seminar. But some of her questions that she could remember were these, and said it was around 14 or 15 questions in all she thinks.

What is my work schedule
They told her my Moms name, and asked who that is
How long were were me and my X married
Where were we married (Me and Rose) this time
What kind of ceremony was it
What was the date of the marriage in the Phils

Hope that helps, and basically just standard questions if you ask me, but I never told her my work schedule because I work all the time, and even work overtime when I can, almost every day, so I basically live at work for now, and did not think that mattered. So she panicked ,and said she does not know, but they still gave her the familiar pink slip saying she passed, and told her to pay her Visa Fee for Delbrose, and attend the CFO Seminar, and then she said they told her to go home to your husband. Hope it is good to go now, and we await her Visa to be delivered.

I got that vonage idea from Kuya Gary and Ate Luz from 1 of their posts. Its like this if you have a DSL/broadband connection at home its gonna work, there's a router that youll have to plug into your pc connection and with a cordless phone you can talk to your loved ones in the US till you want. On my case I have the Sacramento area code and I call Byron on his landphone and cellphone and vice versa whenever we want for $25 a month, thats all. Its really great no more $1500 monthly bills for us Byron ordered the router, sent it here, I set it up and got myself cordless phones and I'll leave it here so I can talk to my family whenever I want for $25 a month when we moved in the US . Mafiaprincess, I have to bow to what the Sheriff said. Only your fiance's ITR/W2 and I-134 matter to the embassy. And this is very important, always address your fiance as "my fiance" not "my bf" especially during your interview.

By the way Sheriff, the consul has trick questions when interviewing so you may want to include that in your tips. The consul knew that Doug worked for one of the Big 3s in MI yet this was how part of my interview went:

CO: What does your fiance do?
Me: He is a systems analyst
CO: Systems analyst for a small company?
Me: Nope, he works for xxxx

Another trick question. He shows me a photo of me and Doug together and he goes

CO: Is he your husband? <pointing to Doug>
Me: No, that is my fiance. <now, if one secretly wed her fiance, one would probably trip up and say yes, that's my husband>
CO: He is not the father of your son?
Me: <I had to smile and say...> No

And then we talked about scuba diving and stuff. I got to ask the CO some questions too, hehe

If they are processing through CSC then their cases are truly exceptional. If there is no error in the dates they posted, then there must be something really special about their case. Is there something in their posts that would give us any idea as to why there were processed so fast? Maybe they have relatives who are CSC adjudicators!

There are cases wherein an applicant is not done with the medical yet and still went for the interview, but they may have to wait longer before they gte cleared at SLEC. There a member at the other forum that had a Psych evaluation, went for her scheduled interview and was asked by CO to have another Psych evaluation.

But since PTB exam takes time (3 consecutive sputum AFB exams is needed) to clear her from a possible active PTB. And if the sputum AFB will turn out to be positive, your girl need to be treated for atleast a month before she can be cleared to travel. Some would like clearance after 6 months of treatment. If this will be your girl's case, then you may have to re-schedule her interview, since that will be a better decision to make and will give you and your girl more time in case she needs to be treated.

Just noticed that you (Marivic) had yer medical exam at SLEC on the same dates as my sweetheart. I know she hooked up with a lot of girls there, but not sure if maybe your paths might have crossed. I will mention it to her later when I talk to her and see if she remembers you. She met up with another VJ girl there and her friends too, but don't I know all those girls. Anyway...just thought it was interesting.

Not much of requirements, really. The American fiance/fiancee just needs to have a credit card cuz thats where they gonna charge the $25 billing every month and some papers to sign then HOLLA your done. Then you can start sending the router box to your loved ones, they just need to have a Broadband/DSL connection at home. Our baby talks to his daddy every day and night, we sing songs at the phone till Byron cant take it anymore, I regularly talk to my relatives in the US for free and they call me through my Vonage number no international rates apply.

I got approved last Tuesday (april 17). It went pretty smooth. I think i was interviewed by the consul for not more than 3 minutes.
i know how it is to obsess about how the interview will go, but then let me assure you that as long as your papers/documents are complete and your relationship is genuine, then, you dont have to fret about it. Just be confident and pray.

As some of you know, we've been hanging out with Steven and Jinky (Steven & Jinky) as well as Paul and Annie (YnaYeBa0808). Unfortunately Mychelle's husband is not interested in kicking it and does not see why she still hangs out on VJ since his AOS is approved. Whatever! Some of the Pinoys, I just don't get. Anywho, it would be nice to have a get together with more of the folks here in Cali. Hell, if we're in any state that you live in, we're gonna look you up.
