Congrats Scott and Mirasol, I'm happy for you guys. Haven't been in here for a while, I started working 2 weeks ago and I'm overwhelmed, having NOC shift doesnt help either.

Hope everybody is doing great and good luck on the upcoming interviews

Mae, Mira and I are visiting the Philippines in April. Yes, fares are more expensive than last year at the moment. I did a lot of searching to find the cheapest possible and got an $875 round trip including taxes etc from LA to Manila on Cathay Pacific. Eva Air are running specials from Seattle through May if you can still find seats, 650 plus tax is the lowest. www.bt-store.com also can find good deals on their search engine. Phillippine airlines usually has a low fare for one way immigrants from Manila. Hope this helps, good luck.

Cliff.

Since June is in the prime travel months, it's bound to be more expensive. I was looking at economytravel.com the best thing about them is that they are a little lower than most sites and show you the total including all taxes and fees before you book. I am still hesitant to start booking airfare, since Riza and I have no idea how long it will be.

Ok...now I get it. Hope you were able to catch up in your sleep. Mirasol works in the day time, but she is always tired too. It's because she goes to bed too late and wakes up very early, so she is always tired during the week. She makes up for her sleep on the weekends. laughing.gif

Hope everything is going well for you and your new family there. We are doing good here. Going to a concert on Saturday night with Sarah Geronimo, Richellene (sp?) Go, Mark Bautista and Christian Bautista in San Jose. Should be a good time. Other than that, just working a lot.

Take care.

My friend is in the same boat with you so that makes me think that they are pretty slow in issuing notices. Did you send your AOS package with a return receipt where you will receive a receipt if your package has been delivered? How about a tracking number for your package so you can track if it arrived safely in Chicago Lockbox? That's what I did with my paperwork so I could monitor it's shipment. You can try calling their Customer Service but I don't think they could help you.

I see... Like I said above, you can try calling their Customer Service but I don't think they could help you. I bet they'll tell you to wait for 90 days for the NOA to be issued but for your peace of mind, at least try. Who knows, your case might be in their system already despite lacking of Notice of Action. good.gif

Yap. back in the day, this thread was a cozy meeting when it was in the Foreign Embassy Forum. The success of this thread probably contributed to the creation of the Philippine Forum. Now that there is a mansion to roam around in, not many come to visit this cozy cottage.

Hey, mabu-hey ang Manila thread!!! I'm so touched that some of our members still remember me blush.gif [blush]

I do visit our thread once in a while. I tried to invite newcomers to our famous waiting list but only one or two replied. Newcomers seem to want to make their own thread so I just left it at that. I also noticed that there is another member from Manila named "patiently waiting" (my VJ name is PatientlyWaiting) so I was confused for a while there. I thought someone had hijacked my name star_smile.gif .

All is well with me. We finally moved to our own house in February. I got busy painting, furnishing and decorating the house and we still have a long way to go. I received my green card back in November. Doug signed an Affidavit of Support and he has no choice but to support me while I take my sweet time in finding work hehehe. Son is doing really well in school. He is in the high school honor roll. I hope he is able to maintain his grades.

It's nice to see that Roy and Yazi, Sheriff Uling, David-Mae Forever, KC_MP are still active. Where is the ever kikay LuzyC? And I see that Danoco, after keeping his silence for more than a year, has popped in.

Here's hoping that our thread will start being active again kicking.gif It's nice to talk/write to all of you again.

Looks like those days are over. crying.gif Some of us are still here. Doing our best to help others. I might sign off too and just visit here every once in a great while. A lot of newcomers here are more independent and can do on their own. I even feel like an oldie with all these new procedures. Oh well... It seems the Manila Embassy Interview Thread's time has past for maintaining a timeline or posting questions about the process. Perhaps it could serve another purpose. maybe it could be a place where members post their interview experience. perhaps it could be a place where members post how they dealt with a specific issue during the visa process.
when a member creates a thread about experiences or how they've dealt with a specific issue, it tends to get lost in the back pages after time. the member may no longer be around to give advise to to someone with a simular situation. it seems a shame when valuable information which can be helpful to others goes to waste.
what does everyone think? any ideas or suggestions?

How does every one feel about letting the old thread die a natural death then we create a new one titled "Manila Embassy - Episode 3". Sub-title would be "Compare timelines, post questions, discuss your case here". Maybe we can attract more new members to join. Episode 3 will be our new baby. I will be the list caretaker again. I will try to find time.

The Sheriff does a great job of maintaining his guide as a source of information. Even though we have the Philippine Forum, it would be nice if there was a centralized location with a timeline. a place where members could ask questions and share experinces.
PW, your contributions were a driving force that made this thread so successful. it would be a shame to see it go.
however, it does now seem to be on life support. I say we go ahead and pull the plug.
hopefully members will take you up your on offer and it can be reborn.

its best to have her signed and mail it thru fed-ex, ups dhl etc... its not really advisable in my opinion base on my experience to have this certain kind of documents without her/your original signature on the paper itself (meaning not fax/scanned)... ive heard somebody got an RFE (request for edivence) just because USCIS thought it was a photo copy yet it was orginal that just look like a xerox lol... wish you luck! you can have your wife also send it to you dhl or fedex it takes like 4 days and only costs about 20 usd. it is alot cheaper to send from phils to here dhl or fedex then it is to send from here to phils. just have her look into it.
good luck

the co sponsor will use same form I-864.
the I-864A is used when;
a household member who is not a sponsored immigrant, agrees to make his or her income and/or assets available to the sponsor to help support the immigrant for whom the sponsor has filed an affidavit of support.

I used a co-sponsor..

Use the I-864 Form and fill it out, have the co-sponsor sign it.

Bring co-sponsor's copies of 3yrs ITR's

Consul will just ask you in what relation do you have with the Co-Sponsor.. That's it..

just some observations of some things I've seen recently in the Forum. what I liked this thread while I was going thru the process, was it's spirit of community. we may not have all agreed on everything, but we all had the same goals, being together with our SO's for a lifetime. It's ok if someone doesn't agree with you. don't take it personally.
there is an off topic forum in VJ for those who feel the need...
just my humble opinion....

Are you referring to the biographic info sheet? If so, it MUST be ORIGINALLY SIGNED by each concerned individual.
