Hello Everyone,

I am so happy now. Last May 31, our approved I-129F was sent to the US Embassy in Manila. Is it correct to assume that my appointment letter will arrive next week? I am so excited booking for our flights already. :-)

Just this morning, I and my child went to her doctor to have her vaccines, which will continue until she finishes all required immunizations (hopefully, in 2 months). Good thing, our company will reimburse it. As for me, I had these vaccines last year as part of my employment benefits so no probs (it pays to be in a big company). I have one problem though, I can not locate her immunization record. I had her vaccinated at the local health center here. Anybody here knows what are the health center standard vaccines for infants? She was born Nov 2001, if this helps.

hi, my son got his shots from a private doctor but i checked at local health centers what vaccines are they giving for infants... BCG, OPV (oral polio vaccine), DPT, HepaB and Measles.. btw, opv, dpt and hepab has boosters.. hope it helps.

folks i have a question. i wanted to have my mom visit me here in the US. since im not yet a citizen, i cant petition her whatsoever but i believe my husband could send her an invitation (visitor's visa) am i correct? may i know what are the steps to be taken or requirements. i surely hope it wont be as hard as the K1 process. lol... thanks!

your mom would have to apply for a B-2 Visa at the Embassy. http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwhniv7.html
even with a letter of invitation from your husband, it could prove to be difficult unless your mom can prove significant ties to the Philippines.
In any case, doesn't hurt to try. best if luck.

Just wanted to thank you for all your information,your time, and your patience when I had run out. Rose will be on a plane and on her way here tomorrow night our time, and she will be here Monday ening on the 4th. Our AR took 32 days, and Visa was received in Quezon City, took 2 days from time realeased by the Embassy if you need that for your stats. Best wishes to anneiyandjackie. God Bless All,

It is so mainit here in PI. I though Hawaii was bad, but this is worse. Lucky we went to Bagiuo for a couple of days. Hmm i don't check VJ and this thread is twice as big as i left it. Wow i better learn Tagalog alot better. In Manila and Bagiuo the workers at the mall and the hotel would speak to me in tagalog? Hmm i am not even filipino. Yet they said i look mestizo. In Laoag, i stick out more and people know i am not filipino. Also it sure look like home here, esp hearing ilocano as well. Good luck to all those with pedning interviews.

You will receive a pre-interview notice 4-8 weeks after NOA2. Your Packet 4 with the appointment letter will follow in another 4-8 weeks or longer depending on embassy workload.

The hardes part of the visa process is the waiting. The interview is not difficult at all but the waiting until that day with all the buttflies in your stomach is the hard part. Just try to calm down and your interview will got well.

That seems to be a common occurance. I don't know if it means they are updating interview info, or have some other problem. In May it was offline until about the middle of the month, and a couple days later the new interviews were posted. The only other way to know your interview date is to call the embassy or wait for the letter.

Every now and then the site goes down for a few days or so. You can contact the Department of State (DOS) or contact the Manila Embassy to inquire whether your appointments have been scheduled, or you can wait for the site to get back up and running. The numbers are within my signature block below.

NOTE: Trust me, I know that it's a tad frustrating when the site goes down.

They have asked Kathlene to come back for the next three days at St Luke's, because they did a second CXR and want to follow up with sputum tests. The told Kathlene they informed the embassy that she would have to re-schedule her appointment.

Will the embassy re-schedule automatically after the tests if they give her an all-clear or will we have to request another interview?

We are both so sad now because we were so excited about the early appointment and now we are afraid we are looking at a several month wait again for another appointment, plus we are worried about the test results now as well.

That (bolded) is so true. Lina's interview with the CO was between 5-10 minutes. Sure we were both a little bit nervous during it but it wasn't bad at all. It's over before you know it. The tough part is not knowing for sure if you're approved or not after it's over. Like everything else during this process you're told to wait. The worst part of that waiting is the unknown. I will say this, once the visa is in hand and you've got the CFO sticker it's a HUGE relief! Good luck all!



From your error message and what everyone else is reporting it looks like their site is down. I can't ping it and a tracert dies after 21 hops. Last response is 203.177.7.206 (which is pingable).



You can call the Embassy (Lorraine @ 5184) but you're not going to get a definitive answer one way or the other. We were in 'limbo' after Lina's interview and looking for a status update. All we got was it was still in processing - no idea if we're on AR or just waiting on the process. The next day we were approved and the visa was released to Delbros. The visa arrived the following afternoon. Did you pay the Delbros fee? If so, you should be able to put in your tracking number and see the status. Your tracking number is your case number + 01 at the end. So if you're case is MNL2007555555 your tracking number would be MNL2007555555501. Good luck!


Sorry to hear you're going to be delayed and hope everything comes out okay with the test results. Hope others who see this do an early medical just so they don't get stuck if there's a problem that takes more than a week to resolve.

Agreed! That is why we were so worried when we got such a short notice about the interview! Her case was transferred on May 22nd, I saw the interview date on May 25th and did not receive the notice in the mail until the 26th for her June 6th interview date. So we had to scramble for Kathlene to get there from where she lives.

So keep checking for your transfer date and AS SOON AS YOU SEE IT HAS BEEN TRANSFERED, check the website for an interview date!

(In fact, start checking as soon as you find the papers are completed in the US! The interview letter was dated BEFORE the case was transfered.)

That is exactly why medical exam should be done atleast 2 weeks if possible even a month before the interview to get an ample time in case there's some further examinations and/or treatment is necessary. If SLEC had informed USEM that you may have to re-schedule, maybe it is also proper to call USEM regarding the re-schedule? Thanks, she just texted me at 12:15 PM Manila time. They asked her to come back after lunch. She said she hadn't had her interview yet and everything is fine so far. That's the first I've heard that it would continue after lunch. Anyway, looks like I'll be up later than I thought tonight. Needles and pins.
