Case Number: mnl2006******
Visa Classification: CR1
St. Luke's Appointment Date: Wednesday, June 20, 2007 (12:00:00 AM)
Embassy Appointment Date: Wednesday, June 20, 2007 (8:30:00 AM)

This is what what i got from the visa interview appointment website. Is that right?or do i have to call them to make the appointment?

the medical is usually scheduled one week before the interview. the medical can be done before the scheduled date. interview is the important one. you may want to call the Embassy to verify the dates.

That is similar to what I got for my CR-1 appointment. St. Luke's June 28 12:00 am, Embassy June 28 6:30 am. Apparently they don't actually make St. Luke's appointments for CR-1 visas. Just take a printout of appointment date to St. Luke's, they should let you take the medical without an appointment.

Our current status:

5/23/2007 8:00:11 AM SHIPMENT OUT FOR DELIVERY
5/23/2007 7:59:07 AM SHIPMENT BEING PREPARED FOR DELIVERY
5/22/2007 7:03:41 PM SHIPMENT RECEIVED AT DISTRIBUTION CENTER
5/22/2007 6:06:35 PM SHIPMENT IN PROCESS
5/16/2007 2:50:37 PM SHIPMENT PROCESS IN THE EMBASSY

Delbros said the delivery could be anytime between 8am and 5pm. I've been poking my head out the door looking down the drive for a sign of the courier. If I've looked once I've looked a hundred times - maybe more. We're hoping it arrives soon so we can go get the CFO stamp. Then we can finally relax. smile.gif

Lina's visa packet was just delivered by Delbros approximately 3:35pm. kicking.gif dancin5hr.gif Too late to go to the CFO for the stamp on the passport but that's okay since the visa is in hand. We'll do the CFO stamp tomorrow.

Ha ha, I'm terrible at learning new words. Every time I visit, the kids teach me the words for all the animals and plants and food, etc. But by the time I've returned home I've forgotten most of them. I rely a lot on my dictionaries and the online dictionaries. But whenever I try to write something to Fely in Ilocano or Tagalog, she'll say "Hon, where did you get those words? Its all wrong, but I know what you are trying to say." So I guess the answer to your question is, I'm doing terrible with learning Ilocano. But I will insist once she gets here that she'll teach me, because I really want to be able to talk to my wife without anyone else knowing what we're saying.

Thank you. I have to say the feeling is more one of relief rather than joy or happiness. The worst part of this process is the unknown and being in near total limbo the entire time. To have the wost part over with is a huge weight off of our shoulders. Now just the CFO sticker and POE and adjustment of status and work authorization. Does it ever end? wink.gif No biggie, the rest of the process we'll be together so I don't mind it.

Funny you should say that. I'm trying to learn some Tagalog so I can communicate with my wife's friends and family that don't know English. It never occurred to me the benefit of being able to speak in a language very few others in the US would understand. That's more motivation! devil.gif Lina is Ilocano too by the way. smile.gif

Good luck to you in the interview. If Lina or I can be of assistance feel free to PM or Email me and I'll be glad to help.

Just a quick question... Is two weeks enough time to allow receipt of visa (after interview) from embassy and delbros? or should I book flights to allow more time for visa to arrive?

Thanks

QUOTE(CountryBoy @ May 23 2007, 06:02 AM) *
In the quote above you are specifically stating that the petitioner needs to submit paystubs, could you please reference a document where paystubs are requested by the embassy?

I hope you cannot produce the document that I requested, but if you do I guess I will have to write an explanation letter about the amounts that are deduced from my paycheck.

CountryBoy,

I'm happy to tell you that the paystub is not referenced. But we've had a few cases where these were requested by interviewer. Since everything is case-to-case basis, it is wise to bring as many ammunition as possible to avoid AR.

The main document for the I-134 that the embassy will look for is the ITR (Form 1040) and W2 to evaluate ability to support your fiancee. If you make well above poverty guidelines, embassy will not ask for more proof of financial capability. However, if one's income is borderline, that is when the embassy starts scrutinizing the petitioner more closely. There's a 50-50 chance that the case will be put in AR. The Filipina fiancee will now need to convince embassy that she will not become public charge. She says, "oh but he's making good money now." Embassy replies with "show me proof. I wanna see his employment letter." If consul is convinced, he will stop asking for more evidence. But if he is having bad hair day, then he will ask for more proof of financial capability and will ask for paystubs (to check if it matches with employment letter and to calculate your new annual gross) and if he is still not convinced, he will ask for more evidence of other assets like bank accounts, 401K, real estate, etc. Manila embassy is tough when it comes to petitioner's income. A number of people here have been put in AR because of this.

In your case, since your paystubs show a lower income because of the deductions, the strategy is for your fiancee to just show your ITR and W2 first. Embassy will only see your GROSS pay and tax deductions. Since you make 4x the poverty guidelines, this should be enough to convince embassy of your financial capability. From what you posted, I don't think you will not have a problem with your I-134. Your W2 and ITR should be enough but keep your reserve ammunitions handy during interview.

PW

p.s. Hey gang, I will update the list when I am feeling less tired. I'm off to dreamland now zzzzzzzz

hi everybody,

i'm a newbie here in the manila embassy thread. this is my first post though i have been lurking here for a long time now. we just got our NOA2 on May 3 and received our MNL case number from NVC on May 14. I was expecting my interview would be scheduled 3-4 months from now. But I was really surprised when i checked the US embassy appointment schedule and found out that I was already scheduled for medical appointment on July and my interview date will be on July 11. I'm kind of shocked right now since me and my fiancee has not really started gathering all the documents we need. Now, my question is when do you think i could receive my packet 4. If i want to have an early medical appointment, could i go there even if i haven't receive yet my medical and interview appointment letter from the embassy. My fiancee hasn't receive yet our NOA2 hardcopy in the mail so i can't even show that. I'm panicking now. so much to do.. so little time!

thanks!

You can print the US Embassy appointment schedule and bring it with her for her medical. She can have an early medical (before July 3). She can also ask for an appointment packet pick-up at SLEC by calling SLEC (although their lines are always busy). Good uck!

This is what what i got from the visa interview appointment website. Is that right?or do i have to call them to make the appointment?

I also have my Medical and Interview date on the same day (April 20). I had my medical 1 month before my interview. JUst show the appointment schedule/appointment packet for SLEC medical. You need not call USEM to make an appointment, just show up at USEM on that day and come early, maybe 5 or 6 am, the lines will be long by that time. GOOD LUCK!!!

Well i have an easier time learning tagalog then ilocano. You figure that hawaii is 85 to 9o percent ilocano here, I should know some by now. I only know the bad words, hehe. My fiance said learning tagalog is fine for now, since it is the basis of the national language. So I speak some bizzaro form of tagalish, which is more english than tagalog. Hmm nice to see some ilocanos here. By the way I am not filipino, just have many friends who are, since where i live is over 50% filipino here.

On question 10. That I have submitted a visa petition(s) to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) on behalf of the following person(s). If none, state none.

I stated: None

Ummmm, do I need to do it again, get it notarized, and rushed to the Philippines before June 5?

I have the same question... In our case, we used the sample form here in VJ and on that particular question, instead of 'NONE" we wrote: MAE XXXXX XXXXX (now filing for K1 Visa)... Can somebody enlighten us please?

Thanks!

Thanks for the advice. i really need to get my medical done earlier than what the embassy scheduled. I have three teenage daughters all coming with me. i have to pick a date where all of us will not be having our period since i know that St Lukes would not let us have our medical if that happened. Now what do you think is the probability of all of us not having our period in the same week? unsure.gif Gosh! i would be all stressed out all the month of June trying to find that date. wacko.gif I am starting to get all my other docs too.

Has anyone had their interview scheduled before Manila even gets the papers from the NVC?

The NVC info line told me the case was forwarded on May 22, I checked the embassy interview appointment page last night and it tells me Kathlene's appointment is JUNE 6th ! ! !

Can this be right? I still have a lot of the papers I was going to send to her still here with me, pay stubs, phone records, etc. so I could sent them the most up-to-date information for her interview.

If this is the right date, how far back would it put us to reschedule?

I had been looking and being lucky to get scheduled in late July or August and then I see this and wonder what is going on!

The info line also says my papers were sent on the 22nd, but I have until June 28th to prepare for the interview. Yes your date if probably correct. NVC schedules the CR-1 interviews, not Manila. And the consulate keeps a number of slots open for this, so you just got "lucky" to be scheduled so early. I don't know how long a delay asking to be rescheduled might result in. If it were me, I'd hustle to get the paperwork ready and 3-day it to my wife.
Dogwood_Poet
OK, so if we try for June 6th, how much earlier does she need to get her medical, so they will get everything to the embassy in time?

If she gets there next week and has her medical by the end of the week, will that be soon enough?

Medical should be done at least a week before the scheduled interview. Earlier the better in case there's problem with the applicant's medical results. If you re-scheduled it may take another 2-3 months of waiting... Good Luck and Congrats!

Yes, your interview date is probably right. I also got a big surprise when i checked the embassy website last May 23 that I was already scheduled for medical and interview. I also thought I would be waiting for 3-4 months since our petition was only approved this month. Wow! things have really moved so fast for our petition this month. We got NOA2 approval, NVC processed and forwarded to USE Manila, found out my medical and interview date, and got my packet 4 in just 3 weeks! I hardly have gotten over my euphoria on getting the NOA2 email. And now all of these things happening so fast! I thought there would be another long lull of inactivity till i hear from US embassy just like what we experienced from our NOA1 to getting the NOA2, it took more than 3 months for us. Now i feel like I am not ready yet and doesn't have much time. Lucky for us though, at least we still have more than a month to prepare for my interview.

Yes, I got my packet 4 now. I called SLEC yesterday to request to pick up my packet 4 from them. Mawi of SLEC told me to call back on MOnday to see if i could pick it up. Then, this morning DHL delivered my packet 4! I was still sleeping and got annoyed that somebody was ringing my doorbell. But I smiled so big when it was the DHL guy delivering my packet. Wow, he can wake me up anytime! Not even my fiancee can make me wake up early in the morning. laughing.gif

But we still don't have the hardcopy of our NOA2. sad.gif I'm wondering where is it now?

What DS forms should go together? Which one is on top of another form? Should I staple the forms all together?

Thanks all!

I have been there at the embassy yesterday (May 24, 2007-my interview). When you enter the immigrant unit section, All DS Forms are submitted at the right side of the door at the ticket releasing(it is your ticket stub until you are done with your interview). Do not staple it, a US Embassy employee will arrange it for you, just prepare ALL your DS forms.

Hello Everyone,

Right now, we do not have our Manila Case No. yet from NVC. Is it too early for me to fill-out the forms needed for the interview? especially the DS forms...

Please advise.

I think you got everything well covered, except you're on K3 so what's up with the CENOMAR?
island_princess
^When requesting for a CENOMAR of a married individual, they will give you a marriage advisory, in which will show any and/or all marriages she/he had.

What is the validity of the visa upon issuance? what i mean is should I need to go to the US within 3 months or 6 months upon issuance?

K1 visa is valid for 6 months.

Updating list to congratulate randy&rose for getting out of AR. Still praying for AnneiyandJacky. Congrats to those who got approved, who have interviews scheduled and reuniting with their loved ones.

I can't believe how fast they are processing IR and CR visas now. This is good news for our CR cases.

Has anyone used a printout of their appointment info from the embassy website to get in at St. Luke's?

Kathlene's interview is June 6 and neither one of us has received her packet with the interview letter. I am wanting her to leave this weekend for Manila and get her medical as soon as she gets there.

The NVC call center said she had to have the original letter, but I have heard others say they will accept a printout of the appointment info.

I still can't believe they forwarded the papers on the 22nd (this past Tuesday!) and set her interview for the 6th! But if she can get her medical in early next week, I will express all the other paperwork to her in time for her interview.

A printout of the schedule from USEM is accepted at SLEC if you still don't have your appointment packet yet. You can also use a copy of your NOA2. You can also request to pick-up your appointment packet at SLEC.

Mylene called the St. Luke's Extension Center (morning) and requested to pick her packet 4 up there .. SLEC called the embassy to have it forwarded there and it arrived the next day (afternoon) .. she went there with her passport and picked it up. if Kathlene wants to take the medical at the time that she picks up her packet 4 she will need the additional documents that are listed in the K-1 Guide pinned at the top of the Philippine forum ..

As a side note, Mylene picked up her packet 4 from SLEC on Wednesday (manila time) and fedex delivered the original Friday (manila time)

Good luck with Kathlene's interview and medical .. good.gif

Thanks! I think I will call and see if they can forward her packet tonight, that should give them time to get it there by early next week!

(Yes, I used the "$18.00" so I will use my second call to see if they can forward her packet.)
