Thats one of those "Jamaican" stories as I call 'em. My boyfriends, who were Jamaican and my current fiance ALWAYS have some sort of CRAZY story from their childhood. Things that are so out there, they could only happen in Jamaica. Hence my "Jamaican Stories"

An ex told me about how he got some glass stuck in his heel from playing all the time with no shoes on. He didnt want to get into trouble so he never told his mom. He ended walking on his tip toes of that foot for a year that 1 of his legs is now longer than the other.....Jamaican stories. LOL! I have many many more. Like how he's petrified of goats from when he was little and a goat pinned him up against the wall and he was hitting at the goat and it wouldn't let him out.

Well lets see it took him like 4 trips before to Kingston from Mobay. Because 1st time he tired he got to the 2nd place to late. Then he went back and got to Kingston but for got his recpeit and passport. 3rd time he finally got it ordered. 4 th time he picked it up. Going from Mobay to Kingston is expensive. Then he had to get his shots and a taxi to the medical. Yes he said that is what the lady asked for over the phone. This will also pay for his final check up on May 22nd. You can do the final check up in JA or the states. It includes me paying for the I-130 and I-129F. It includes Dwains airfare to. I thought we take his first plane ride together to Kingston. So it seems high but the hotel in Kingston is not cheap and I am calulating food and taxi rides once I get there.

It has been a "likkle" while since I have checked in. I see soooo many newbies in the group. It is nice to know that most of the veterans are still around. I see that many of you have great happenings in your life and have been blessed with future "pickney's"....

I was unable to read a lot of history but I did read about TexasBound's situation. I am soo sorry that you are going through this. Please know that the pain will pass in the next few months and God will provide a better future for you.

So...we received the "Welcome to America" e-mail notice today so we are expecting the Green card any day now. The FBI name check was painful because we wanted to travel back to Jamaica but were afraid to travel without the Green Card. We are now planning a trip in June. I can't wait!!! We miss Jamaica bad.....

Duane and I are doing well and getting adjusted to married life. The cultural adjustment is tough at times and this entire process takes a tremendous amount of patience. If anyone ever tells you it is easy...they would simply be lying or crazy.......WE are doing good for the most part and just thankful that our love is strong. It has been the glue that has held us together during the rough patches. The lifestyle adjustment part has been the hardest......I think of your yardies often and really do not knwo how I could have made it through all this without you. I am sorry that I do not check in more frequently but we are really busy and it is hard to find the free time. I miss all of you and please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers.

What a freaking a**h*le I am so sorry you had to go through all this. Unfortunately you just never know. Hang in there - you got some good advice already about contacting INS and such to cover your own butt - I would definately do that. After 90 days, he will be here ILLEGALLY and since you reported it, it is not your responsibility.

Well, we've made up our minds - almost. We're going to Jamaica in August instead of November. I really don't want to go into labor in JA I'm going from Aug. 18-25 and Tony will either go at the same time as me or 1 week before that. He wants to spend more time with his family and friends and I can't get any more vacation time. It will all depend on how much money he can save up for the trip (1 week vs. 2 weeks)

Didn' a couple of you other Yardie's mention that you may be in JA in August? What part of JA? I will be in Ochi as usual.


I haven't really had it too much yet. I was just saying I'm scared of it I have had a few bouts of nausea, but no puking yet. Who knows what even qualifies as "morning" for me? I work from 11pm to 7:30am so I don't wake up til around 5 pm!! I don't know when my morning is!!!

I haven't had morning sickness - my face is breaking out slightly and it gets harder to get out of bed every morning. A few headaches. For the most part it's been bearable. I have a list of questions to ask my doc this Thursday.

Thank you to you all & Congrats to many many other. This a.m. I contacted USCIS & Ice (DHS) & advised them of what happened. They updated their records. I had to offer to give Ice a lot of the contact info as far as his #'s up north & associates, other woman etc. (odd). But they did receive it. You are correct I have no responsibility & he still has 90 days. I feel better day by day, but even more knowing that I was given the correct guidance from you guys as to what my next step should be. It was very hard to make those calls but it was a good responsible step in order to secure myself & my son. I think I will disappear now. Thank you Visajourney, too bad you cant tell me my future. Hello again-

So sorry to hear about things Jamie. I swear that all Jamaican men must go through this....we had a little of the same issues over here. Duane started to work as a DJ around the area and he felt the need to stay out 4 nights a week thinking that there was nothing wrong with it. We also did the couseling thing and it helped me to understand that it is a cultural thing for him. He just hates to stay in the house and feels trapped when he has to stay in. He reminded me that he never liked being in the house when we were in JA. I have tried to make some adjustments and he started seeing that his actions don't lead to a productive marriage. He had some good couseling from a few of his older Jamaican friends that live in the states. He has been really trying to work with me so I am hoping that we have turned the corner with some of these issues. Hang in there......once he realizes that he may lose his "best friend", he may have a big awakening!!! I have talked with several girls from VJ who are all going through similar issues. It will get better....no matter what direction you go in.....

So..Jonesie and Rhonda are preggos.....HUH???? What is the due date for these new yardie babies??? I am sitting over here waiting for Mrs. Monthly to come so pleazzzzz send me goood vibes because I do not think I am ready to join your new "club"... not just yet....maybe next year!!!!

An acquaintance called and told me today that she got "set up" and that a guy will be filing a bogus Fiance visa for her, I probably should not be but I was a bit P***.

After all I'm going through to get my "real fiance" here people are using the system for money, no wonder we have to skip though so many red tapes.
