I commend you for taking the steps to get things back on track. From the day I started posting and speaking with you all, I have always admired you - not just for your relationship with your husband (and in my heart of hearts I believe that he does love you, and not just in the physical or secular sense, but in the spiritual sense; but as you put it is like a kid in the candy store and facing some trials) but because you are so sweet, honest, and real.

I pray that you two will come back together stronger than ever. It's definitely hard for someone to come here and adjust. You had the advantage because you were born here, but was able to stay in JA and adjust, so you had a "taste" of both worlds. A lot of people say that it's a cop-out to say that adjusting leads to breakups, but that's not something I believe.

You will keep your faith in the Lord and I know that He will continue to direct your paths. My sister stay strong.

Where are you moving too?

You know I have been thinking about this for a while...go with me on this one...

We should create a VJ community...acreage we can all build our houses on near enough to each other that all the men can do their guy things and us girls can be friends in person...what do ya think good.gif wink.gif Now if we can only agree on a location whistling.gif

We plan on moving back to Virginia before the end of the summer..we're in Maryland now. Looking for places now. We need more space and more bathrooms....it's hard sharing a bathroom with a teenage girl and a husband who thinks he's the sexiest Jamaican man alive wacko.gif

Oh yeah and most of our husbands can cook!!! The Yardie Compound good.gif

I vote for Atlanta good.gif

Well I'm in Southern Cali, anybody wanna come here?

I've been thinking, the Yardie compund is a really cool idea. But until we can settle on a location hows about we HOUSE SWAP! Kinda like that show Wife Swap, except were not exchanging husbands and wives, were swapping homes for a weekend. If you want to take a quick weekend trip to visit sunny LA, I'd swap my place with you. I'm always down to travel the country and see different states. And how cheap of a trip would that be? Only have to pay for airfare. good.gif star_smile.gif

That's a great idea..but now I won't have room sad.gif

Who lives in Atlanta?? We were planing to go to Atlanta for a PriAmerica siminar, but it looks as though we won't be attending the siminar, but we thought we could enjoy the city instead jest.gif energetic.gif

I'm hip to Arizona, but I've been to all the other places. I also really like Atlanta, although alot of traffic. The heck with "4 seaons". Up north in Arizona there's cold and snow, but I love it out there when I lived there. We're heading there for vacation in August. Takin my son tubin down the Salt River ...can't wait !!!

It's supposed to FINALLY be soooo nice here this weekend....what do we have, soccer and more soccer !!!

Have a great weekend everyone.

brownnskinn

BUT U KNOW BELWIN MI SEND OFF MY I-130 4MTHS BEFORE YOU RIGHT? HOW MINE A TEK SO DARN LONG

I have a conection I think. My dad is in a high postion in his burb of Chicago and the former speaker of the house our sentor has his office in the same town. It is all about the conections and knowing people I believe in this world. It is sad to say. Or maybe different cases take longer to clear with FBI checks that is what I have heard. I also used this thing called James short cuts on here it saved me a good two solid months at NVC.

Same thing with the taxes ITTN and getting my husbands copies of his passport notarized. I knew a notary.
BelwinMills
One more thing that I think helped I had relationship pictures in my I-130 from 1999 up to our wedding and I sent one in with Dwain and My family in the pictures. Just guessing this also may make a difference that I have about 8 years worth of evidence. You should see my interview binder it weighs a ton. My mom was asking do I really need all of that stuff. I wanted more but she is not willing to dig through her boxes for more proof. She is convieced we will do just fine.

I might seem a little impatient, but is is normal that my file has not been touched since the 5th of April which was coincidentally the same day I received my NOA1.

I'm just a little worried that it has not been touched, I look at other timelines at Vermont and it seem like they issue NAO2's or RFE's within 2 weeks of the NOA1. I'm just wondering whether or not they lost my package or something. At one point should I consider calling?

Thanks for your help.

Yes, you're waaaaay too impatient laughing.gif Your NOA1 is ONLY 2 weeks old!!! I had to wait approx. 90 days from my NOA1 til the NOA2. Count yourself lucky that you're going thru Vermont.

Also I have been getting a lot of questions via PM about my life and the move and just wanted to answer them all at one time...So this is my story and even if it is useful to ONE person than it is worth it.

Jamie, thank you SOOOOOOO much for sharing your story. I've been really worried about you and wondering how things were going. You are doing the RIGHT thing. If you need anything at all, e-mail me, PM me or call me.

Hello all. The stranger is back. First thing VISA APPROVED kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif Thursday April 19th.

Of course as the rest of our case went it was another roller coaster ride. Here’s how the last month or so went. Where I left off we were told Nickiesha needed another physical on her interview on Feb 20th. They also told us that they would schedule her a BLUE SHEET interview before her police report expired on March 23rd, if we got the physical done quickly. That day we scheduled another physical for just a few days later. The following day I requested the appointment. It took weeks for them to come back with an April 3rd date; of course this was too late for the police report. Calls reminding them of their promise by myself and Indiana Senator Lugar’s office had no effect. So Nickiesha goes for an expedited police report. She returns as scheduled to pick it up. They tell her sorry it’s not ready we will send it to your local police station for Thursday April 5th. Of course that is too late so we have to reschedule the interview. Of course it did show up in the afternoon on April 3rd. I manage to get an April 19th date at 12:30, which is 1:30 here in Indiana. Around 2pm I get a call from Nickiesha, they will not let her in for the interview; her name is not on the list. I tell her to wait across the street; I’m going to make some calls. I call Senator Lugar’s office, they say they’ll call the embassy and see what they can do. I call a few times myself, I get routed to voicemail and then eventually to the idiot security guard that was giving my wife the problems in the first place. End result of my calls the idiot tells me that we will have to get another appointment. I tell him that this isn’t the end of it they will be hearing from a US Senator. About 45 minutes later I get a call from the senator’s office. They tell me they found where she did have an appointment and had no explanation why she was not on the list. He still had them on the line at the time. He asks me if she is still there. I say yes she is waiting across the street. I was told she should come back in 5 minutes they will let the security guard know she can be let in. I would have loved to see that man’s face when he was told. I suspect the office was embarrassed over the situation as when she got to the door they brought her straight in, took her passport and police report and she was out of there in less than 20 minutes. Throughout this whole procedure they including the previous interview they never asked her one question.

Nickiesha’s flight is next week Saturday. Four years and five scheduled interviews later finally a visa.
sjb1221
Congrats Eric kicking.gif

A BIG congratulations!!! Unbelievable.... They were definitely trying your patience.
Well wishes and a safe flight for your wife...

THis should be fine, only the w-2 in a separate mail concerns me. I filed 3 years as single and amended them all at the same time when we finally got the paperwork to file for the ITIN. It took a few months but the refund checks eventually showed up. Funny thing is, when getting a transcript on my taxes from the IRS the amended tax returns did not show, only the originals.

QUOTE(missjones @ Apr 20 2007, 01:41 PM) *
Hey!

Since you guys are talking about taxes, I have a quick question about amending taxes.

[Wait: Good morning to everyone, I hope you all are having a great day. yes.gif ]

Ok, so I just amended my taxes because I made a couple mistakes. First, I filed online with a filing status as single because I didn't know about the ITIN number for hubby. Plus I received an extra 1099 form that I need to add as income.
So I amended my taxes by paper and I mailed them in at 11:58pm on the day the 17th. Since I have been pregnant I have been losing my mind, and I forgot to send in one of my W-2 forms with my amendment so I have to mail that separately. And then to top things off, I mailed my amended taxes with the application for the ITIN to the ITIN department, because the instructions told me to. (Hopefully that was right, since I am not orginally filing, but correcting what I already filed- but it should because the ITIN is the reason for the amendment.....these are my inner thoughts.)

I have been sitting on my little butt, stuffing my face, and watching Passions and Grey's Anatomy (and Notes From The Underbelly) and I want to get some things together for the rest of this process for my hubby. SO, my question is (whew!)... the paper copy of the amendment...is that what I should send my hubby OR will the IRS send me a new copy of my tax forms with some kind of stamp of approval? I have never amended before..obviously.

Thanks,
Miss Jones

CONGRATS ERIC...I'M IN THE WAITING FROM FOR INTERVIEW DATE FOR MY HUSBAND...

That would be the Interview, you should get the packet 4 soon. They sent ours to both myself and my wife, though mail is slow in JA. I'd wait till friday, if you or your hubby have not received packet 4 yet. Then call and request an appointment to come to the information window to pick it up, letting them know when you appointment is scheduled for.

Be clear to hubby they will find out if he's smoked in the past 4 months and it is worth the delay of rescheduling to be sure he's not stuck in JA for 3 more years.

I couple of ppl actually went to a local doctor to get the necessary immunication shots and brought the record to the medical. It came out a little cheaper. You should try calling the doctor's office and make an appt at least two wks prior to the interview. That way the embassy will recv it prior to the interview.

good suggestion nyceness. my fiance's immunization records are lost so he will be getting them prior to his medical.

hey belwin- did your hubby have to start all over with his immunizations? Do you know which specific shots he did get?

eric- what will be your wife's port of entry?

He had his shots that were done when he went to school. He said he had to get two shots and one more a little later in May. I sent him 250 for the whole process. There was a green sheet stating him not to go to a doctors clinic. So he didn't want to ruin his chances so he stuck to the plan. I think so far this whole thing has costed me 3,000 USA dollars paperwork and his items to get. By the time I get my hubby here about 3,500. This is my airfare, hotel, police records, rides to Kingston to get them, doctors visit, passport, birthcertificate, passport photos. I am so suprised they are uping the fees too. whistling.gif
