THey went to Dr Banbury in MoBay. I guess it also depends on how much you give the doctor.. unsure.gif

Yeah Anna...I remember hearing about this problem with him waaaay back.....and I remember talking to Roy about him and he confirmed it. I could be wrong but wasn't there a case (here on VJ...) where someone paid him and he still submitted the original test?

Roy went to MoBay Hope.

That brings back memories..........Andre was talking to me on the phone one night and I heard him let out this scream and sound like he was running. His friend's lit up the chalice in his room and he was trying to escape. I laughed so hard.

We plan on pretesting just to make sure and rescheduling if needs be. Greasing palms is a last resort but I still want to know who and what my options are. I won't be doing this for another 3 years.

We....okay "I"...ended up paying off the Lab Supervisor......$335 US. Craig said she wanted $500 and I was like yeaaaaah right !!!

I truly believe that it was ALLLLLL a scam and I'll never ever know the truth!!! C said she "was fired"....don't know if that is all true either!!

Craig went to the one in Kingston. They do blood test because GANGA can stay in your system for UP TO 3 months !!!!

I laugh though, what Jamaican man LIKES needles??? I don't know of one that isn't very squirmish ! When he had his medical here, they poked and proded and he was like a total baby !!!!

Jengles
The baby was 7lbs 10 ozs and 19 1/2 inches long and came out from 7 minutes of pushing, (the doctor threatned to cut me) that was great incentive to push. baby girl is very quiet not at all like her brother.

Just spoke to hubby a got a list of the questions they asked him, he said he went to three people, not sure who asked him what, he did say he was asked if he filled out the forms and for a copy of my latest tax return and that was from the first person.

here's the list of questions he was asked

how many brothers I had and their names
mothers name
fathers name
where do i work
what city is my job in
where do i live - he gave city not street address
cell number, house number
where and how did we meet
how many days did he see/talk to me during our initial meeting
what hotel did i stay at when we first meet
what date did we meet
when was my 2nd trip
and why did i come back to ja for my 2nd trip
why did i just get my passport - i got it 10/16/06 for those who are wondering but i mean who doesn't know passports are know required for international travel
when was the last time i traveled to JA
why did i travel so late in my pregnancy
how many weeks pregnant was i when i traveled in may
why isn't she here? answer - I had a baby the day before
does he have a birth certificate for the baby born on Monday - this one cracked me up. I used to work in a hospital birth registrar's office, there is no way u can get a birth certificate in less than 24hrs. The best we used to do is give people a mother's letter, saying a baby was born in the hospital to so and so. birth certificates come from the city. I told him if u had said yes, she would have bounced u out of there.
what does he like about me
does his kids no me
what is my title where i work - he told her, she then said to him that does mean anything what does she do? and he told her something else something like Marketing Manager I think he said and she said that doesn't make sense. but I told him HE has all the facts and so do they beyond that he can say whatever he likes and long as it resonable and they can't disprove it.
how did we get engaged - this he fudged we got engaged over the phone in July and got married in August, he told her we got engaged over the phone and when I came down in June we finalized it and then got married in August. Here she tried to trip him up because he said over the phone and she concentrated on that and told him that if he was lying she would stop the process right now. he told her he wasn't lying but she could stop the process if she wanted to.
she wanted to know how many times i came to JA and didn't belive when he said 11 times, but he had photo copies of my passport pages, and my frequent flier miles from AA my redemptions and earnings which showed all the trips.
she asked for the wedding photos and asked him to identify my grandmother his mother who was my son, and how old was he and what was his full name
why did we get married where we did

hope this helps

he said he got the impression that if he had changed any of his answers he would have been out of there and she was asking questions thru a speaker and he said everyone could hear the questions she was asking

Marlon said his medical went well, I will find out where he went and the cost and post later. I am sending him the paperwork tomorrow. Which is better/faster DHL or FedEx? wacko.gif On another note, I will not be attending the interview for several reasons but most importantly because of work, there will be several people on vacation the week of August 14 and it is necessary for me to be at work. Had the original date I was given remained August 7 I could have gone! Leave it to the embassy to mix up dates! good.gif My boss agreed to write a letter to that effect. I am 100% positive that Marlon will be fine during his interview. Again thanks to everyone for their advice and support!

Thanks to and for all the VJers, who posted info and answered questions, I'm sure without VJ and that very important binder he would not have passed.

you deserve a double congratulations! you named your baby jenelle right? how big was she? how's big brother adjusting?

Yup Jenelle,

big brother is loving her, I was so worried he's been vocal through out the whole pregnancy that she better not play with his toys, and now he doesn't want to go to camp and I can't make too much noise because I'll wake his baby sister,

12/11/2006

I may have posted this somewhere else but I can't find it. Sorry!

YAY we got our interview date!!!! By email they said that it is SEP 6, 07 at 8:00am. Lets hope it is truly that before I put in for days off. I think i'm going to fly down on Sep 5th and come back on the 8th. I'm not really sure on the date of return. I wasn't really sure if I should go because I am saving money to move when he comes up here. What do you all think? We have been together for 1 year, I have been back to see him 3 times so far in the one year and we have talked to each other every SINGLE day for the entire year and have phone records to show. I have pics, phone rec, frequent flyer miles, passport copies of stamps, phone cards, birthday cards, evidence of birthday party that he threw for me when I was there. I mean we have everything that everyone else has and I know he could do it by himself but I just think we me being there it would just be 98% guaranteed! I just started a new job and I really didn't want to take off so i'm stuck in a bind. He feels the same way I do. My fiance knows that he can do it but it will be tougher if I am not there with him. I know you all talk about this on a regular basis but given my circumstance, what do think? I need your advice please! Help!
Yaads
My take on it is this...no one on this thread has been denied for not having enough proof of relationship. They are issued 221g (blue slip) and given a chance to submit more proof to satisfy the CO. If you are comfortable with him going to the interview alone (and he is comfortable as well) then let him go. If he is issued a 221g then you can spend the money on going down to JA and submitting yourself as further proof. Yes it will delay your visa but in the end you won't have spent the money going down if it wasn't really needed. You are definitely the best proof but if you can't/don't want to go for the interview let them go alone. You can always go down later if need be.
Yaads
I have and always will say that you are the best proof but I also know that there are different and difficult circumstances around each person. You do what you have to do and what you are comfortable with good.gif

You are definitely the best proof but if you can't/don't want to go for the interview let them go alone. You can always go down later if need be.

Thank you soo much for that perspective.... I/we have been battling with the same issue. I left it up to Kevin. Either I go for the interview or go down after he has the visa (lord willing) and can come back to the states with him. He is more nervous about flying than going to the interview so he wants me to fly with him laughing.gif If he is given the "blue form" then I guess I can just plan my trip around the date they give me....hopefully though the visa will "soon come" because I don't know how I would be able to stay longer than a couple of weeks-and that is a stretch!! I am glad to be able to watch so many of you go before me.... my estimated time seems sooo far off (Dec).

I'm so excited! I go for my ultrasound tomorrow morning (Friday) to find out the baby's sex kicking.gif goofy.gif dancin5hr.gif I hope he/she cooperates and isn't crossing it's legs laughing.gif

Congratulations to you two!

I can't believe that they DENY that many people in one day! I never knew it was that hight of a percentage. Now I'm getting concerned cause it seems like there's really no room to not worry, until after the visa is in hand.

That number does seem high, I wonder if perhaps those were for the visitor's visas as I know Jamaica constantly denies those and Marlon had tried twice many years ago.

So Rhonda, the sex of the baby is ________?

I emailed the embassy today to ask if they were requesting any additional paperwork i must bring to the interview and here is their response:

Dear Madam

Your presence will be good enough for the interviewing officer.

Someone asked me if there was anything suspicious about our relationship.....
There really is nothing out of the ordinary about our relationship...we have known each other for 3 years, we are the same age, i've been to JA 12+ times(in the last 3 years, many times before i met him), we know each others families well, our kids have met, we had tons of proof (other than me), etc. The only possible thing that I can think of is that my fiance is a painfully shy person...i'm talking extremely shy....i can just picture him at that interview with his head down stuttering and barely able to utter the answers....so i'm guessing that he maybe didn't come across to the officer very convincing...i don't know that is just my feeling about it.

What I have realized is that even though those officers give us and our SO's a hard time it is really because they have our (the US citizens) best interests in mind. Can you imagine all the short lived engagements and marraiges if they didn't? I just try to put myself in their shoes and try to understand the necessity of their questions and requests rather than get upset and frustrated.

I continue to remain positive and hope that all of you who are fretting can do the same....

finesse I really like your outlook on your situation. I have a natural tendency to think people are "haters" and jealous and they just like to tell people NO. And not just in this situation but when ever someone has the ability to tell someone NO they will. But when we go for our interview I will definitely be mindful that they have my best interest at heart and are not the typical hater. Positivity we a deal wid!

Good luck in December!

I think i'm going to fly down on Sep 5th and come back on the 8th. I'm not really sure on the date of return. I wasn't really sure if I should go because I am saving money to move when he comes up here. What do you all think?

Thanks. I'm so excited dancin5hr.gif I'm leaving work in about 2 hours (7am) to go pick up Tony and my mom and make it to my 8am appt.

They interview a LOT of people at that Embassy. You figure each person can interview at least 6 an hour since they're only 10 minutes long or so. Multiply that by 7 or 8 hours a day and 4 or 5 interviewers - that's a lot. They make sooooo much money too. I think they deny people on purpose so they have to apply and PAY again!!!

I completely agree with you about the officers trying to "look out for us"....they absolutely should have asked more in some of our cases !! The rate for those that are *not* together (from this site alone) compared to those that are together..... the 1st outweighs the 2nd by ALOT !!!

I feel bad for him if he's that shy and they gave him such a hard time. Dag....seems to me you guys had ALOT of proof!!! It's a bummer that you have to go through this.....but at least they gave you some time to get down there, that was nice of them, huh ??

The day were were there, there must have been about 40 people in the interview room alone waiting to be interviewed and that didn't count the looooong line of people outside, which at the time almost wrapped around the building.

Shoot and some of those questions, Craig would be stammering, his memory is HORRIBLE, but then again....that's years and years and years of g--smokin !!!

You'll do fine....

Hey Anna,

NOPE because "I" am not paying for it and he won't buck up the money. I have done my part and have had the loads of paperwork filled out for forever. I'm not worried and don't care anymore, because at this point....if we do go through it and he gets denied, whatever....say la ve....if he were to get approved, we'll most likely be heading for divorce. Everyday is something different. One day great, 2 days horrible. It goes back and forth. Worse than the stock market. I have to go through most of this laughing cause if I didn't.....shoot, I would have LOST IT a looooooong time ago.

I just live my life the best way I can and know how to. My son, thankfully, hasn't been home much this summer staying at my parents and friends and then is off to the Outer Banks tonight for 8 days with another friend. So there's MUCH needed alone time.....for me, at least and "I" am absolutely loving it !!! Cause being a single parent (all of my sons life) "I" never ever ever get down and/or alone time.

I have friends coming in this weekend and I'm very much looking forward to it....hitting the Reggae Wine Festival tomorrow, Jahworks (reggae band) tomorrow night and Artscape on Sunday. The weather is going to be gorgeous !!!Craig said he's not going..........whatever, don't care. He can wallow away in his own misery, I don't let his negative crap get to me ever !!! Neither will my friends no0pb.gif

So, so far.....that I know, we are the only ones to have waited this long on the Yardie thread. I've done a TON of research on the VJ site and since there's "no deadline"......??

Have a GREAT weekend everyone !!!

With a K1, you **have** to be married within 90 days of his/her foot stepping into the US. Than the next part is AOS. Craig's fortunate that one of my clients works for immigration and he was authorized and EAD card which then "allowed" him to work within those 90 days. Then you are to file, the AOS, EAD and the option of the AP. I personally have not chosen to file, because I truly didn't think (still do) that we'll make it. Yes, "I" am being Mrs. Nice guy.....
