One year for me.

We are going to apply for a SSN and California ID today. What should we take other than his passport and I-94?

Met in November 2004, went back in Mar 2005 (had trip already planned before we met in Nov), went for my 40th bday May 2005, July 2005 (talked about where this relationship was heading, etc etc....didn't really have a proposal, but knew we wanted to be together and have a commited relationship). Went back in Sept 2005 and Apr 2006 and then interview May 2006. Filed at the end of July 2005. I requested 2 extensions, because I knew we both were not absolutely ready......interview end of May 06...came here June 06. Dag, looking back....whew I do NOT miss the long distance phone calls !!! Talking everyday....

Met August 05 went back to visit Oct 05, April 06, July 06 this is when we dicuss the long distance issue and wanting to be together. Filed Aug 06, went back agian Oct 06, March 07 (went for interview) April 07 went again and returned home together

WOW I was on a roll to JA You know.... I'm still not sure how in the heck I was able to afford all those trips

I have a little story too ..We started dating when I ws 14, the I left for the US at 15 kept in touch for a while. August 2004 got a phone call from Kashi, we talked for hours everyday. Went January 2005, he asked me to marry him since 2004 decided on May. went back 2005 got married, went back december 2005, then March 2006 came back and started filinf, then March 2007..and now we're waiting

I've been to Jamaica so many times in the last five years...I can't even remember the dates. Even in the petition, I just said that I've been many time. MOst recent was Jan. 07 and Sept 06. I know I was going at least four time a year. The first year I was in college so I didn't go that often.

Michele - the DC Caribbean carnival is June 23-24..that's the only way we'll see in my costume I forgot the dates in Baltimore in July and September. I'll check with Trinidad. We also plan on attending the Jamaican Indpendence Day celebration Kelly was referring too.

Damien and knew each other 1 year before I applied for the K1. We met in August 03, went back Oct 03, Dec 03, Mar 04, May 04, July 04....applied August 04. Visa approved Oct 04, he came to the US Nov 04.

Lets see...I filed for him 1 year after we met.( included five trips to JA and 1 trip to DR) I've only "known" him for about two months

Thank you all for your well wishes...I'm just glad that is done...I will complete my internship at the end of the month, but I'm not stressing about that any longer. Now, it's all about moving...I'm trying to locate to NC by the end of next month...I've had a couple of job interviews, so please pray for me Yardie fam...

Let's see...I met Gregory in June of '05. He proposed in July of '06, and I filed later that month...Between the time that I met him and the time we filed I visited him 6 times!!! And phone calls EVERY day (even now)...I don't even like to begin to think about the $$ I've spent on phone calls alone And to think, we've got another 3 years of this...oh well...

Awwww....I'm going to miss it...That's my birthday weekend (June 23rd)--can u guess how old I'll be?? Anyway, I plan on being in Jamaica during that time trying to get together some wedding stuff and spending time with my lovebug, sooo...maybe I can catch another one somewhere else....does anyone know if they have any sort of Carnival in NC? In fact, are there any Yardies up here that live in NC?? My friends and I also want to go to the big one in NY, but we're not sure if we're that brave yet...none of us have ever gone to one, so it should definitely be cool

I miss my daughter. She went to FL w/my mom, my sister (and her two kids) to see my Grandmother. I didn't want to go b/c I'm saving my vacation time for JA this Aug (hopefully). Javon's nephew is getting married and I would like to go to the wedding.

One of my friends called this morning asking if I was pregnant...he had a dream I was pregnant with twins

everyone thinks that twins are hard to handle....but really it is not...i have been taking care of 2 sets of twins for the past 7 years....the first set was just shy of 3months when i started...took care of them until they were almost 5 years old and the second set i am taking care of i started when they were 7 months...and now they are 2 and a half....sure there are some trying times with them....but it all works out and it is great because they have a automatic playmate!!

So my move this past weekend was successful...nothing out of the ordinary. It is definitely different though...

Anyways I am asking for your prayers/kind words/love/or whatever else you can throw my way...things have definitely gotten ugly and the crap is hitting the fan. I have and always will remain the bigger person with integrity and respect but it is getting really hard as the truth and all the gory details are starting to emerge. Andre has chosen to bad mouth me to basically everyone and while I am choosing to keep my mouth shut and if I do speak only speak facts, it is really getting hard. Andre has made himself out to be the victim and is playing it up for all its worth and all he can get out of it...which is really sad because what he says to me is usually the opposite of what he has been telling others Don't want to be a downer but would love some prayers.

I have a question. They said when my husband gets his visa it is good until 2016. Is this right? I thought it was only good for 2 years? What did you guys all receive? Just curious.

Since you guys haven't been married for 2 years I would assume that you will get a conditional visa (CR visa) and have to remove them in 2 years time...if you got the 10 year (IR Visa) then they made a mistake but I am not sure what you would have to do about it.

Unless the visa itself is good for 10 years but the green card that he will get when he gets here is only valid for 2 years.
