I got my welcome letter yesterday and due to a death in the family I need to travel out of country over the weekend. I tried calling 18003755283 for guidance but there is nothing in the taped messages addressing that situation. Can any one offer some advice?

Make an infopass and see if you can get in to talk to them about it. My sympathies for your loss.

I would try to get an InfoPass appointment at your local office and see if they can give you a stamp in your passport, or maybe they can tell you if the welcome letter is enough to get back into the U.S. after you return from your trip.

A Welcome Letter will not get you back into the USA. Make and infopass and ask for a I-551 stamp.

Unfortunate timing.. I agree with the Doctor. Beg, plead, bake cookies---see if you can get that stamp (and PLEASE let us know what happens).
