My husband is the US citizen in our application. He is about to move out to the US which will help with establishing domicile, but he will be living in a hotel for the first few months. Is this likely to be an acceptable address for the various forms (DS-230, I-864 etc) or might it cause a problem?

As long as he gets his mail, how would they know it is a hotel? My concern would be that he wouldn't get it and what about when he moves and the mail doesn't follow properly? For a few months, couldn't he rent an apartment or a room somewhere. Somewhere more permanent?

As a side note, because we were selling my house and moving to an apartment that was not ready for a few weeks, we made our address my cousin's house, next door to where we would live. I have my license, bank stmts., etc. all sent there. That way, nothing was lost in the mail. And, when we are ready to move again, there is no chance of anyone not being able to find us. Too many important papers floating around to get lost in the mail.

Thanks for your reply. He was going to be living in a hotel because the cottage there comes with the job (he is redeveloping the hotel). But now it turns out that he may be living elsewhere and isn't sure where yet, so his employer has suggested that he use their office address as his own for now - that way all mail will get through to him and it won't matter so much if he moves around a few times over the next few months, which he probably will.
