Hello All
Sorry to probably duplicate what has been said, but after viewing some posts I find myself somewhat confused. I sent in my I-129F package to the Texas Service Center as specified for my location, it appears it was than transfered to the California Center. I recieved a I-797 Notice of Action Dated Jan 12, 2007. Since than have recieved no further communication (mail) or change in online acccount. I have watched the processing times on the USCIS website get changed once a month for the California website, the change seems to be around one month every time. Currently they say they are completing processing for I-129F's as of Sept 2006. Im confused, I see timeline after timeline from other members here and other sites who have submitted packages after me and have NOA2 and beyond. I have recieved no RFE or anything. It has been almost 90 days since NOA1. Yet there website says I should not contact them till there listed processing time has passed. Thats over 3 months from now!!! Can someone explain what is going on and what recourse I have to find out why my petition seems to be in limbo???? How do people now there petition was touched? Is this recorded in the online USCIS account?

First of all you need to discern Vermont filers from California. Vermont is much quicker. Secondly, last week was the first week that any January filers from California started to see approvals. You are not in limbo... you are just getting close to game time...

In order for you to find out how your petition was touched you have to register and enter your receipt # in the USCIS website. The number should start with a WAC#. Once you do this, you will see a "last updated" date, every time that date changes means that your case was touched by an employee of CSC.
The average time frame for a K-1, CSC filer is about 3-5 months. You're close to 90 days so you still have a while to go. If after 6 months nothing's happened yet, then that's when you should call USCIS customer service. As for now, all you can do is wait like the rest of us.

Thankyou for information. I do realize that somehow one service center (VSC) is substantially faster than the other (CSC). You would think they would balance the load seeing how the other two centers are forwarding them all the I-129F's. May I ask how you know exactly that January submittals are now being approved? I have seen quite a few CSC people with 30-60 day NOA1 - NOA2 times. Thanks for info on touched, I have logged into my WAC# and all it says is current status: Case recieved and pending. States date I-129F was recieved, a paragraph on the process, a line about automatic updates, than links to processing times, note about local office submittal, questions phone number. No last updated anywhere on page. I have noticed a time stamp below the Get Adobe Acrobat Reader it has a date of today 11:38 PM EDT no last update, I doubt they touched it tonight at 11:38. I think that is when i logged in. Anyways your comments are appreciated.

when I was waiting for my noa2, i never got a touch. Yes the uscis website dates are far off from what they are actually working on. I would not go by what their site says. It seems like the average time for CSC is about 3 months til noa2, don't get worried though if it does not come in 90 days. You'll be getting it very soon, Just keep holding on.

Whatever date you have on the "last updated" is when they touched it last. So if the date on there says for example 02/16/2007, that is the last time they touched it.
A good way for us to figure out the average time frame between NOAs is by checking our own timelines. Check this link out, it lists VJ members with the dates from NOA1 - NOA2 for CSC/NSC/TSC from November 2006-March 2007.
http://fwaguy.250free.com/K-1VisaView.htmVSC filers are getting their petitions approved faster but we're stuck with CSC so we have no other choice.

Hello there. I had the same confusion about CSCs and their processing times. I have called customer service several times (didn't really get much help), and even our atty said our petition would sit for 6 months as the USCIS website is saying, before it got approved and sent to NVC. However, given the historical trends from VJ filers, it appears that USCIS processing times do not reflect the actual timeframe it takes to approve. At least this is my perception. I had the same questions and confusions. It is so agonizing to not know if it is going to be three or six months...bit of a difference!!! So, I have my fingers crossed that you will be receiving your approval soon. Please let me know, as I filed after you and am anxious to see progress.

You'll wear yourself out if you fret about being 'touched' (or not being 'touched' as it goes). I recieved one 'touch' a week after my NOA1 and NOTHING until my NOA2, 4 months later. That entire time, mine showed as 'Case received and pending' and last updated 11/27/2006.
There are even people who are already approved and at the embassy while their online statuses still show as 'pending'. There is no 'norm' for this - its certainly no exact science. Nor are approval times - which even at CSC can vary from 60 days to 128 days (me!) and beyond.
The only way we know Jan filers are getting approved is based on what January filers here at VJ have stated. This thread may help you:
http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;#entry810980Remember, too, that VJers are just a small percentage of the total amount who have filed and are waiting.

I haven't seen any 30 day approvals from the CSC but I do know they can get cases done in under 2 months. While not as quick as the VSC ours went pretty quick. I wouldn't fret too much about the lack of touches either. If you check my sig you'll see my I-130 was approved with almost no touches. Also keep in mind the website isn't always accurate. In fact, if I check the online status my I-130 is still pending despite the fact that I've got the I-197C approval notice at home.

Good luck!
Edit: Hehe... I had this thread up a few hours before I actually submitted my post and I see TracyTN posted a message that exactly describes my situation!

Yours is also K-3 and while some people say they are all handled the same... I tend to disagree... I think petitions are sorted by type and worked that way by different working groups....

Thanks everyone for your input.
I wish everyone, a quick approval and safe arrival of your loved one.
To respond to Mononoke28, I do not have a "last updated" field anywhere in my case status online.
Just
"Reciept Number: wacxxxxxxxxxx"
"Application type: I129F, PETITION FOR FIANCE(E)
"Current Status: Case recieved and pending."
Then a paragragh saying they recieved my petition on January 09, 2007.
a few links and thats it...
no "last updated"
85 days with no end in site........and than even worse, waiting forever for a Manilla enbassy interview...

I think I know what the problem is. Did you register in the USCIS web site? If you didn't, you have to in order to see your updates. Once you do it, you go to "My Portfolio", in there you click where it says "To add a case to your portfolio click here." Once you've added your case, you can see the "last updated" date.

I think the OP has already done this. He wrote, " I have logged into my WAC# and all it says is current status: Case recieved and pending. What's confusing him is the lack of 'updates' (or touches). Which really shouldn't confuse or upset him at all. Most times, your case IS pending and just sits there without a touch - until NOA2 day.

hi. i'm so confused too! i have applied for a K1 visa for my finance from Ecuador. we received our I-797 NOA1 on Jan 30th. i live in AZ so i had to apply to the California service center. it looks like from the timelines on this site that it only takes about 3 months to process/ get your visa approved. but when i go to the USCIS website i see their last post from March 15th says that they are just now looking at applications dated Sept 13, 2006 -- which is 6 months ago! i'm confused. any clarification you could give me is greatly appreciated.
thanks!

Don't focus too much on the processing time posted, it will just make you panicky.
Just take action, when they post Jan 30, 2007 there and, you don't have your NOA2 yet.

The Sept 16th date is basically telling you that (according to USCIS), its taking 6 months for them to process I 129fs. In reality, at least according to timelines of folks here, its taking more like 3 months (although some take longer - mine was 4 months).

it makes me so sad we have to go through this for silly lines on maps and white fat men in suits. ugh!
