ok friends..help me make sense out of this nonsense. Both my petitions were touched today. ITS A SUNDAY... how could that be?
I don't know if i should be excited, nervous.. this immigration process has created havoc for my emotions.

Neel, to be honest, I think these touches are probably just the result of your phone call (I think that was you that called). So I wouldn't read anything to them at all even if on Sunday. But, that said, I would be very excited because I think your approval is coming very soon. I'm excited that mine is coming really soon and you are even ahead of me! We're near the end, my friend, but don't go crazy just yet! smile.gif It is a very maddening process though! That's for sure!

The reason I say don't read anything into the touches...if I remember correctly, you called CSC and asked about your case. I did the same thing on 05/23/07...I got a touch on my I-130 and I-129F both 05/23/07 and 05/24/07, but then nothing since. It looks to me like the same thing you are seeing. I'm hoping this week or next for us!

i guess i am just really hoping for that approval, and looking at the statistics of other individuals whose spouses are from India- my approval date should have been within the last week. thats why i have been giving so much significance to that touch. However, i usually get everything late in life.. so ur probably right- that touch was probably due to that phone call. crying.gif

Count me on your boat Neel, I have been geting everything on late through out my whole life (31years so far)... I used to get the result at school on late...the papers back on late.....luggages at the airport : I will be the very last person to get his luggages, got married late(comparatavely to my family persons)....got job on late... and now geting my wife here on late...still un certain... cause I have been waiting since september 2006(I-130), had also filed for I-129F on March 2007... till today no touches since 3/28/2007. Today I called the USCIS and did that RFE trick and guess what.. it really connected to me the VSC (as the machine said..) waited 7 mins then a person identified himself as officer replied my call. I asked whether I have any RFE or not since I waited so long.. and sometime websites doesn't reflect the current data. He checked and said it's pending... and some one still working on it (What type of work is he doing ... for the past nine month???). Any way after the call I check for my case portfolio, but no touches could be found... LvivLovers, did you get the update date right after you call?? or just a day later?? any way above all I am at the same place as I was except now I am sure that there were no RFE sent to me....Oh God please have mercy on me and have them approved my petetion... I have no vacation left to go and visit her.... I am missing her terribly...

Vikas- when u call the uscis number do they still say ur case is processing or do they indicate ur approval.

Neel,

You got touches on both I-130 and I-129F. That's a good sign. And also, looking at you timeline, it's about time for that approval e-mail. You will get your approval very soon, today or tomorrow. Good luck!!! good.gif

Adhi,
Are you pursuing the K3 or the CR1 route? If I send in both the I-864 and I-134 to NVC, do you think that there is a chance we might switch the interview to CR1?
vikasp
Neel, according to the website, still pending. I have not called USCIS for an update and don't want to...NVC had sent my approved petition to India already.

From my experience, the USCIS help line does not tell you any different than what's available on the website (though I know some people have had better luck). I will only confuse the representative when I tell them my petition is already approved.
neel06
if i don't receive my approval this week i will seek help from an attorney. It has exactly been 100 days for my I-130 and 89 days for my I-129. majority of the India filers (ones without an RFE) get their approval within this time span. some of u may think i am over reacting.. but i can't help myself i am extremely worried. the sad irony is I am a mental health counselor... and i think i am gonna need therapy myself. THANKS USCIS mad.gif mad.gif

Neel, I bet that the approval comes very soon. I think that you will have some notice by the end of the month.
Hang in there a little longer. You can do it stay positive. I am expecting to receive notification around 2-3 months after I received the notice that the petition is pending at CSC. So, for me I guess that I should have something by the beginning of September at the very latest. Thank the Lord it will be here. yes.gif good.gif

Neel, I don't blame you, I felt the same way. When my cousin applied for his wife it took only 60 days and for my sister for his husband took 80 days, none of the person that I know from Bangladesh took more than 90 days for just the approval... look at my case it is over 270 days... crying.gif and till today VSC officer says they are working on my case???... By the way I just wanted to late you know that 8 hours passed since I called and spoke to VSC officer still none of my cases were touched, therefore I am wishing that the touch that you got on your case is an approval touch... you will get the approval today or tommorrow...for sure.....good luck mannn

I don't think seeking help will do any good for you... cause they won't take a look unless it passed the Current processing application time... and according to the website they are still processing March 12 2006, and mine is September 11 2006. Today while talking to the VSC officer, he told me unless I have a referal no they won't provide me detail status (Like which step they are performing on my application), and suggested me to call the NCSC and not to provide the receipt no on the automated system...so I did that... and connected to the NCSC rep. I asked about referal and he stated, no referal will be given untill the case went beyond the current processing case time.... therefore, your lawyer also will be unable to help you until that time.... I don't want to make you frustrated... you may not be as unfortunate as I am.... I am still very hopeful about your case since you have a meaningful touch!!! and I have none!!!

I called CSC again today (through the RFE path) and learned that although my cases were approved 16 May, they still have not sent my NOA2. At least they agree with me !

The guy I spoke with talked of how they were slammed when the H1B season opened this year -- and I'm sure they were. I know first hand that employers can be as frustrated with the system as we are -- just less emotionally attached to outcome than we are.

Anyway, he's putting in some sort of request that they actually issue the NOA2's. Apparently the mail room has had an order to print my NOA2s for a few weeks now.

Adhi, I really don't know 100%. I called NVC and they said my petition was to be shipped on the 8th. I then called DHL and asked to track packages from Portsmouth (?), NH to Mumbai, India with sender as Department of State. The lady then gave me a tracking number and I looked it up online and saw a delivery.

I will try calling the Mumbai consulate tonight to find out for sure. If that doesn't work, I'll call Dept. of State Visa office in D.C. tomorrow.

Hey! Congratulations! Your application seems to be moving right along. I don't know what happened to mine. I got a received date of March 6, 2007. Then I didn't even hear from them again until June 2, and they were requesting more evidence. So I sent that back overnight mail, and they received it on June 5. Now I haven't heard anything since then. I'm really getting impatient. I can't find out anything about it. The customer service number is no help at all. It said if you got anything in the past 60 days, then they're working on it. I don't want to wait 60 days before I find out they didn't get the evidence or something. How do I find out what's going on?

Thanks!

NEEL, after my phone call, i got another couple of touches and then an APPROVAL for both petitions.
Something totally unexpected. - I think that when you think about it all the time, you actually unintentionally prolong the wait. Try to stop dwelling on it, and get ready for a great surprise! wink.gif
