I can't say that the gym has kept me *sane* but it certainly helps to get rid of negative energy.

As a few others have stated.........going to the gym , etc.....has helped a lot, to get by on some of the more stressful "immigration" days. When you are constantly dealing with government agencies like USCIS and the NVC, which can be a very frustrating experience, you definately can use an "outlet" to relieve some of that aggravation.
Needless to say....it also helps as an outlet for the daily routines, job, etc...as well.
I exercise 7 days a week,( rain or shine

) ..............for typically about an hour to 90 minutes a day.

I exercise 6 days a week - monday to saturday - at the gym, 30 min cardio + abs + 30 min lifting weight, so a bit over an hour. I take sundays off. But that's now that I'm not working yet, once I start working I'll see my schedule, I probably won't be going everyday if I leave work late in the afternoon because I dislike exercising at night, it keeps me awake at night (they say it's not good for people with insomnia, which is my case), so unless I leave work early and I can still go 6 times a week, I'll probably go only 3 or 4 times a week, which is good enough.

I don't think "I do not like exercise" and "I work out x times a week" are mutually exclusive options. Since "I do not like exercise" has been true all my life, no matter if I was working out 5 days a week (college) or sitting on my lazy arse eating brownies (this week) the fact remains, I enjoy not a minute of it, so that's what I chose.

Yeah it should have been a multiple answer poll.
I play soccer three times a week - twice on competitive teams and one day of practice. (One women's one co-ed).
I play tennis twice a week - one day competitive, one day practice.
I coach tennis and soccer (not at the same time...Tennis right now)
I abhor the gym because I'd rather be playing a sport to exercise.

At the moment, my exercise plan consists of walking to the kitchen to get more coffee... Thus working my thigh muscles... Walking down the hill to the pub thus working my calf muscles and raising the wine glass to my lips thus fighting those bingo wings.
When I get to America however, Chris is a very outdoorsy type person (which I am too, but due to work, I never have any time!) so we will be hiking and mountain biking quite a lot of the time

I did joing a gym a few months ago... It ended up being the one most expensive gym session of my life... I cancelled the membership after 3 months... I hate the gym with a passion...

This 9 month separation has not been good for my health or for Li's. We've reacted in completely different ways.
I have buried myself in work trying to make the time pass quickly. I tried going to the gym, but couldn't stick with it. Activities that don't keep my mind busy have become impossible to enjoy. I've gained about 10 pounds and I'm not in as good a condition as I was a year ago.
Li last lost her appetite and ability to sleep soundly. She worries constantly about the visa being denied. She has lost about 10 pounds and is also not in as good a condition as she was a year ago.
I hate the torment my government has put us through. Neither of us has ever committed a crime, but we've certainly been punished.

I do the gym 3 times a week - usually 60 to 90 minutes. I can't stay longer than that as I get bored - and have to do something totally different, like swimming.
