So I called USCIS yesterday using the RFE trick, however this time I proceeded as though I didn't have my receipt number. This led me to a different call center than CSC. The first person I spoke to had to be new, but after a few minutes of run around he agreed to escalate my call. I was excited at the prospects, but as usual I was dissapointed with the results, though I did find it more useful than talking to that one woman at CSC. Anyway, I kept waiting for the 'double touch' as a result of my call. I never saw it change to 8/2 but when I checked this AM it said 8/3. I'm cautiously optimistic yet scared to be hopeful that maybe our case was finally assigned.

Also, I said I'd report back on my NVC email, after one week I've gotten no reply.

Come on Super NOA2 Friday...no whammy no whammy no whammy!

APPROVED!!! kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif kicking.gif

After the touch I had to call. I got a cool guy at CSC and I simply asked, "My case was touched and I want to know if I've been assigned or better yet approved?" Almost immediately he congratulated me and told me I had been approved yesterday. I called my girl right away and we are both ecstatic of course. It's been a tough last month on us, it's nice to finally be through this phase. With the consistency they've shown the past couple of weeks, it should be no time until this thread becomes all about NVC and interviews. I'm confident the rest of our April family will follow shortly.

BTW, he told me they sent the notice yesterday but my case still shows as pending online...

Hey congratulations... It seems like things are moving quite well this week....
We got touched on 08/01 and 08/02. I called Mel to let her know about it. Her internet is down and she's working away from home. She's a Peace Corps Volunteer in St. Vincent. She said that she thinks that I should call to find out about the progress of our case. I am kinda skeptical about that bcos I suspect that they may bring up some privacy issues regardless of the fact that I'm the beneficiary. Do you guys think that it's worth it for me to call CSC, or will I just be wasting my time?

Thanks for the congrats. My suggestion is absolutely to call. You are the beneficiary and therefore have the right to do so, hopefully you will also be informed that you are approved. Good luck!

Well, I just called and the guy who answered said that they cannot provide information to anyone apart from the petitioner. I told him that from listening to the recording at the prompt, it said that either the petitioner or the applicant is allowed to call. He said that since I'm the beneficiary, he could not provide me with any information. So I guess Mel will have to find a way to call them. I'll be calling her in a while...

Hello fellow April filiers, I called CSC for the first time today, and a very nice woman told me that my case was assigned to an officer and they were processing files from 4/17/07 (which just so happens to be my NOA1 date, ha ha). So, for those of you who have an NOA1 around that time, I think you should be hearing something VERY soon!

Good luck to you all!

WIOMBEEN.. I was surprised to get a reply from CSC this quick. I mean I sent the email last night like after midnight and today after lunch I got a reply and this is all it said.. it still left me to a dead end..

The California Service Center (CSC) does not accept inquiries from the general public via email. All inquiries must be submitted by calling 1-800-375-5283. The National Customer Service Center will route your inquiry to the appropriate USCIS District Office or Service Center , and will track your inquiry to a final resolution. If you’ve received a transfer notice regarding your case, please inform the National Customer Service Center at the time you submit your inquiry. The National Customer Service is available Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM, PST.

either way this late in the game I am sure you will get your NOA2 before you will hear from them. Yours has to be soon as well as everyone else's baring no RFE's

Not only 18 this week, but no RFE's that I am aware of for weeks. I think that they are far enough behind that if the app is even close to complete they're going to approve it and approve it with only a quick review. This could be the only upside for those who have suffered through the last month.

What??? From April 17? I hope that person was kidding... how about the ones before the 17th?

I just wanted to tell you that our NOA1 was approved on June 6. The NOA2 was sent on June 29th, but my case status was never updated. I sent them an email and they sent me the same email you received. So there is obviously a disconnect between the computer website and reality. Good Luck

WOW congrats Deron!! about time eh? we are all falling into place now haha.... hello NVC...

WIOMBEEN.. I was surprised to get a reply from CSC this quick. I mean I sent the email last night like after midnight and today after lunch I got a reply and this is all it said.. it still left me to a dead end..

Hey all,

My fiance is preparing/assembling our I-129F packet now to be mailed to TSC tomorrow, so I guess that makes us an April filer! Can't believe it's April already! blink.gif Where did the time go?

Anyway, here's to us all April filers, let's keep each other company here on this long K1 journey! star_smile.gif yes.gif Cheers to a speedy and trouble/fuss-free journey! good.gif

Anybody want to co-miserate ?.........

helpsmilie.gif What am I doing wrong ?

After 5 years in Japan, I met a wonderful young lady who agreed to marry me. good.gif We moved in together (really, really hard to do with conservative parents) and lived together in bliss for 8 years. Then, we consulted an attorney who advised the fastest way to move to the US was for me to return, find a good job, file a K1(fiancé visa) and wait 4~5 months. Well, I returned to the US in January. I finallygot a really good job with state government, and I mailed the 129F to the Nebraska SC, as instructed, on April 25th and they signed for it on April 27th.

For some reason, they forwarded it to the CSC mad.gif and they first showed it received on June 15th in CA. (What the hey?)

I called the Customer Support line 7 times and spent 3hrs, 41min. wacko.gif and finally got an Hispanic lady that was really nice; she explained that they're behind approximately 6 months and I would get a letter soon. I've yet to get a letter and the online processing time still shows Jan.13th. blink.gif

Since it usually takes 6~7 months to process the visa for Japan, does this mean Yumi and I aren't gonna' get a visa for another year ? crying.gif

After having made three visits at $3500 each, missing each other very badly, and having to put our future plans on hold, this is getting ridiculous! mad.gif

Anybody have any suggestions ?

If you fill in your timeline you will get an estimate of your time which is more accurate than that provided by USCIS. They are currently working on the April NOA1 people so I would guess that they will get to you in around 2 months but that is just a guess.

First, ignore the the fact they say they are only working on Jan petitions. They use this date as a safety net. they are indeed working on April petitions now. So you should hear something soon.

Vermont and California CS's are the only ones that process K-1 petition now but you still have to send them to the service center designated to your area. I think that might be changing but it was true when you sent yours in.

It is true that some people do indeed wait a very long time to get their approval but mostly it takes about 90-110 days right now. Check the guides for a K-1 flow chart.

Your wait for your NOA2 is almost over then you will wait Approx 3-4 months for the interview. Hope this helps.

Thank you my friend, and I thank all of those who have expressed their congratulations to me.

As I read these posts I sympathize and understand the feelings everyone is expressing. I have felt a myriad of them myself over the near 4 months it took to get my approval. It is tough on the relationship, it preoccupies one's mind, and the inefficient process is overwhelming. However, the fact is that 95% of us will be handled in a relatively consistent and straightforward manner. Our time will come, nothing is certain in life, but this process, while cumbersome, will yield results for the vast majority of us, and it will do so in a semi-predictable fashion. Take heart those who are still waiting, it will happen soon.

Good luck all!!! good.gif

I know it is frustrating just sitting and waiting, but this is the process. Just be patient and before you know it, you will get your NOA2. The important thing is to remain positive. Good Luck to you, and to all!!!!!!

Well, I just ran some timeline searches and no one who's filed with the TSC and recieved their NOA1 within a day or two of ours has receive their NOA2, so that makes me less worried. The averafe for TSC filers is 110 days from NOA1 to NOA2.
So if I haven't heard anything by the end of the week I'll be ringing them.

On a down side, Laura just told me Mad Cow Disease is out again in the UK. Apparently this time released from a government lab. I hope this doesn't impact them approving her visa.
