What does it mean if they will request additional evidence???whats that?

kits_24_faith I just checked it online and they are requesting for additional evidence....What does it mean????is it the RFE??? Does it mean we're touched?

On August 7, 2007, we mailed a notice requesting additional evidence and/or information in this case. Please follow the instructions on the notice to submit the evidence and/or information requested. This case will be held in suspense until we either receive the evidence or the opportunity to submit it expires. Once you submit the information and/or evidence requested, you will be notified by mail when a decision is made, or if the office needs something further from you. If you move while this case is pending, call customer service.

They will send you a letter asking for some additional information. It may take a couple of weeks before you get the letter. Sometimes people have been asked for things which they have already provided. Just send whatever they ask for and hopefully you will be back on track quickly.

I have read that some people have called using the RFE trick. well this time for you its not a trick but the legitimate use of this option. Anyway. call the CSC using the RFE option and see if you can get the info on what additional evidence they need from you so you can start getting it ready if they will tell you that is. Also ask if you can send in that evidence before you get your physical RFE in the mail. Let us know what they say. This will delay your NOA2 but shouldn't be a terrible delay as long as you have and do send in the requested evidence ASAP.

Thanks kits_24_faith at least right now we heard from our petition..it so hard to wait and didn't hear anything, you don't even know whats going on with your petition..I'm glad that there are changes now even if they put us RFE its ok at least we know that they somebody already take care of our petition.. Don't worry kits_24_faith you will be next and surely it will be approved!

I did finally actually get a touch today from my phone call yesterday... so it is true that no one has even be assigned to our case yet... boy i will be glad when this part is over

Why do they need for more evidence?? its scares me now......I'm getting nervous....

If I did my search correctly then 101/139 April filers have been approved.

I want to give a big congrats to all those who have been approved so far.

To those of you who have not try and keep your faith up. USCIS has not forgotten you.
Think of it this way. We have all formed a line at the ticket booth waiting for Def leopard/White Snake tickets(since they are whats hip now right?.) HAHAHAHHA Unfortunately there wil always be someone who gets their tickets last. It's a longer and more frustrating wait for that person, but in the end everyone in that line will be jammin' to the music come nightfall.

Kits_24_faith, unfortunately, you are one of the last in the line apparently, but that's it. They havnet forgotten you.
It is frustrating and nothing but a NOA2 can take that frustration away from and you may have to still wait another week maybe longer if there is an RFE(not trying to further discourage only trying to be realistic), but don't lose the faith
since your NOA2 is coming and sooner now than later. Your just at the back of the line thats all, there are
only 38 out of 139 left in that line so your time is soon approaching, and you will be rocking out with the rest of us
including you Jessel and Chris.

It's frustrating to me that we were told it was assigned..yet nothing...absolutely nothing yet...

I just rang them up...the nice hispanic male that I could hardly understand told me.. .(I did understand this part..lol) That it looks as if our case has already been forwarded to the NSC...they just forgot to update the system..and send anything out to us ...

I strongly urge the others to ring them up ....If they are forgetting to update the system..and lord knows what else...who knows how many peeps they've done this to.

I told him..I belong to a community online of K-1 visa filers..and have noticed people after me getting approved..and was wondering if there was something wrong with my case. I haven't received anything in the mail as yet. That's when the gentleman told me that my case has been sent to the NSC already..they just forgot to update the system...so I never received an email or anything! He's requesting my file information so they can send me the hard copy if they have not already.

Congrats! They are really working the backlog now. I think we'll see plenty of approvals this week. It sort of reminds of the late April early May approval blitz. There was that one week with something like 47 approvals for VJ members. Now the question is how long will they take to send to NVC? With this many approvals for K-1's their going to make some large shipments pretty quick.

Why do you think it was a denial? You said that the website said that a request for more information was sent. If you were denied they wouldn't need any information. and the website would say DENIED instead. What does the USICS website say for status on your case?

Kits, I had a touch yesterday and got the notice today. I'm not trying to give you false hope but if you don't get it tomorrow at least you know they are doing something on your case! You're time wll come soon, Im sure!!

Jessel, I agree with Wiombeen. I wouldn't think its a denial coz you said its an RFE. that's two different things. so try not to worry as much and i'm sure you'll get an approval quick once you send in what they're asking for. don't let your hopes up.

Kits, I'm sure you're up next! You should try calling soon if you don't receive any email from them as that's what happened to me! Upto now, my case online hasn't been updated yet so they probably forgot about it...!!!

i am so sad n agen down..me and jesel chris got touches today and i too got an rfe..both of us hv noa1 of april 12..i ges we both hd the same oficer n he or she hd a bad day or hate us so just went ahed n gv us rfe n probably didnt luk at r files..how cn we find out wt to collect b4 we get the letter?

OK so now you and jessel should call asap and see if you can find out what they need and get it together asap. Make sure you ask if it is allowed for you to send in the info before the RFE hard copy arrives that way you can get a jump start on it and it may only delay you a short while. Find out everything there is to know about it if you can over the phone. I know it must suck to wait so long to now just get an RFE but as long as you send in the information they need then you should been right as rain. I would, once you find out the info they need, send it overnight asap.

please keep us informed about your progress. we are all here for you and jessel until you get your NOA2's hehehe.

once you find out what info you need to give let us know if its something you want to share. maybe someone here can help in in explaining why they need what they need and help you make sure you send everything you need to send. K?

I'll call them tomorow and hopefully will get a very helpful representative and get a lot of info to get a good start. I just don't know what else they need because the proofs I sent with our application are pretty strong.. I mean nothing would doubt it.. I just can't believe that I waited 4 months just to get an RFE. Why can't they just approve it? It wouldn't make a difference if they are gonig to approve it once they get what they requested..

THOSE WHO HAVE KNOWN ANYONE HERE THAT EXPERIENCED THIS RFE BEFORE AND BEEN THROUGH IT.. HOW LONG DID IT TAKE TO GET YOUR NOA2 AFTER THE NOTICE THAT THEY HAVE RECEIVED THE RFE? I DON'T WANT TO WAIT FOR A FEW MORE MONTHS AGAIN JUST TO GET MY NOA2.

kits_24_faith I had a feeling before that we have the same officer handling our papers... When I read your post message it makes me cry...both of us got RFE we got our NOA1 April 12 it sucks! we wait for so long to have our NOA2 but we had an update stating for RFE...I dont want to wait any longer..... the officer who got our papers kind a strict!

My fiance called this morning and they said we have to wait for the notice that they sent before we do some stuff ahead....and that our notice will be arrive before end of this week...we're hoping to have it tomorrow...

JC & Kits, relax guys, RFE means your files are worked on and as soon as they get your RFE response they'll NOA2 you immediately. Things are much more predictable and under control for you now.

I'm very sorry to hear about the RFE for both of you, but the previous poster is right, once they get your additional info it will go very fast. I know it's hard (believe me, I know) to keep positive sometimes but you'll be with your loved ones soon, I just know it.

Let's continue to support one another until all of us April filers have our SOs here with us and get married. Indeed. I know its frustrating. Oh I do know so well. Even with your RFE I still envy you, all of you for that matter haha. I came into this visa journey after almost 2 years of dealing with a simple annulment. So essentially my visa journey will be almost 3 years in the making by the time she is able to come to the US. I can't begin to tell you how many times court hearing where postponed. The Filipino court system makes USICS look like waiting in line for a movie ticket. I know words may not help at this point, but rest assured that even with your RFE it wont be that long until you two are reunited. So try not to be two angry with the results so far, just thank god thats your only problem.

I can't believe it. Everyday I check Interview date checker thingy ma bob! It is the website you can enter your knew number they give you at the NVC to see when your interview date is. But as i have read it's pointless for at least another month for me, But I check it all the same. Today i check it is it says.
