I'm about to send in the N-400 and had 2 questions:

The Document Checklist says to provide:

"Proof of termination of all prior marriages of your spouse - divorce decree, etc."

I am the spouse. Neither of us have been married previously. Do we need to produce a document that PROVES that I was not married? Or do I simply ignore this because the N-400 states that I was never previously married?

Also, on the N-400 it ask: "How many times has your current spouse been married?" Would I answer this 1 or 0? Not sure if it's asking me to include my current (and only) marriage.

Much thanks!

Since neither one of you has been married before you do not need to send any kind of documentation to prove it. I don't even know what document that would be.

As for the second question, you should type "1" since you've been married once (to each other).
