English language ability is not a visa requirement. They will interview her in her native language. Anything you can send to prove how you two communicate (since she cannot speak your native language) will help prove the validity of your relationship (if you don't plan to be there).

They will conduct the interview in her language.

They will probably ask how you guys communicate with one another

Probably translators will be available in languages spoken in the region. You can also email the Embassy before the interview requesting a translator in your chosen language. As others have stated, English is NOT a requirement for an approved visa.

Thank you to all, this was a great help now that my fiancee knows she can have her interview in her own language she a little more calm, she do speak english, well enough for us to communicate with each other, it's just she was worried because her emglish is'nt perfect, and she was afraid it would hurt her in the interview. Thanks again good.gif

to my understanding most embassies it is optional but my husband when interviewed at the Amman Embassy, he was told that his interview was being done in english-he had no choice.

My fiance's interview began in French. The CO asked him how we communicated since he didn't speak English (he's actually fluent, the CO just automatically started speaking to him in French). My fiance then switched over to English and told him he lived in London for three years so he could learn the language, and that he speaks English just fine.

Well..my husband was interviewed in Islamabad Embassy, Pakistan and they asked him if he wanted to be interviewed in Urdu (native language of Pakistan) or English, but he knew english..soooo he went on with the english interview. Good luck to all who are having interviews!! Don't worry, just be yourself and be honest!! Remember the dates and have your documents ready so that you dont have to take a loong time to find them in your file/bag.

It's a plus if the bene can do the interview in English. Especially if there is an interpreter involved as things can be misunderstood.
