HI EVERYBODY!

I WAS JUST HOPING IF ANYBODY COULD SHARE THEIR EXPERIENCES WHEN THEIR SPOUSE ENTERED INTO THE COUNTRY WITH WHAT KIND OF QUESTIONS THEY WERE ASKED BY IMMIGRATION.

I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE ANY INFO YOU GIVE- THANKS SO MUCH

I wasn't really asked anything much, I went through Newark, NJ. I got to the immigration officer, he said whats your reason for coming here? I said to stay for good biggrin.gif he looked at me like huh.gif lol, I said I have come here on a K1 visa he took my big packet with all your stuff in (the one you are forbidden to open tongue_ss.gif ), that was that, I then got taken round the back to a bigger room, where they deal with other visa's and what not, another immigration officer took that envolope was told I was a K-1, he opened it and took the contents out. The air hostess on the plane gave me the wrong form to fill out, she gave me the VWP (green form) you fill out on the plane, but I had asked at least 3-4 times that I have a visa do I still fill out the green form?, she was like yes! well duh! tongue.gif to you lady cos you were wrong! but anyway, they asked me to fill out the I-94, the immigration officer then stapled it to my passport, said make sure you get married with 90 days, said only one or two other things, I think, he asked me what my husband (fiance back then) name was, that was it, but he gave me a temporary EAD form to fill out, (which by the way is totally pointless, cos the EAD take 3 bloody months to come through anyway! and when I actually did get my EAD the thing had expired blink.gif go figure! but anyway, that was it, he gave me the form and said you can go and get your bags, that was it. I then got my suitcase, took it to the drop of point and then went to my gate for the next plane I was going onto Providence, RI biggrin.gif thats it! not much to it, was over very quickly! kicking.gif

Easy peasy lemon squeezy! smile.gif

My POE was Philadelphia.

The first inspection, I just handed the passport and the envelope to the girl there and she sent me to the secondary inspection.

I was asked for the envelope and told to sit, and that I would be called shortly. Indeed, after about 10 minutes sitting there I was called, and a very nice woman went through the papers, asked me when we were getting married (I said in a month since my family came for the wedding) and she congratulated me and stamped my passport (edit:not for the EAD, just the regular entry stamp). It could not have been easier.

There were some people there who were asked to go for their luggage and it was inspected, though they were not k-1 visas.

Don't worry smile.gif it will be fine! good.gif

You mean the immigration (passport control) component of the POE. Customs is after passport control where they check your baggage, etc...
