I did a quick search but did not find exactly what I am looking for. I apologize if this has been asked and I did not find it. We are getting married on 2 Apr and plan on filing the AOS/EAD/AP all at the same time. I just found out yesterday I am deploying to Manila for 6 months in May. I want my wife to be able to travel with me and assume applying for the re-entry permit is what I need to do. Is this correct or is there other requirements that I have missed? Thanks in advance ken & maria

Ken_Maria,

A re-entry permit is for LPRs who will be out of the country for more than 1 year. Maria would want advance parole.

"deploying" - you are military? Check with legal people on your base, there may be special immigration considerations for alien military spouses.

Go to uscis.gov. Click on 'press room' and refer to the Press Release dated 2/20/07.

You may qualify for a legitimate expedite of your wife's adjustment.
