Funny bit, when I first started talking to her she asked if she was too old for me being one year older. I got a good laugh.

twice her age ewwwww, disgusting.sex is great but don't make her feel she is marrying her father, sex won't be great for long then!
NO! Some woman prefer an older man than a younger man.

I noticed while living in San Pedro, Laguna that Filipinas prefer older men, if they are foreigners. I can honestly say that everywhere Thelmz and I went, we were accepted as the norm. Friends and pamilia were excited about our relationship and all gave us their blessings when she moved in with me. Her Mom, Lola and friends actually helped her move (I was at work).
From that point on our relationship and love grew exponentialy....and the condo was never the same...always full of Filipino, whether friends, pamilia or co-workers. I wouldn't trade a day of our life together for anything! Call it destiny, or fate or whatever, Love is the greatest elixir known to mankind. If my being 24 years mahal ko's senior causes us no issues, then it shouldn't cause issues for others, we are happy, and those who know us are happy for us! God's Peace to everyone here!

Age difference? Do the math

WOW. If the age difference between me and my fiancee was that great, I would still be waiting for her to be born!

I wonder what the success rate in marriages with these age differences is.
I wonder why people ask questions that they think they already know the answer to (or at least they're suggesting an answer).

Michelle (USC) is 26 turning 27 this August 27.
I am 28 turning 29 this September 23.
2 year and 1 month difference between us.
But i really do notice that Filipinas prefer older foreign nationals probably because there are very ready to settle down. I guess i am one of the few in this trail who married a full blooded Filipina (who also grew here in the Philippines) but is at the same time a "naturalized" USC. Anyways, age does not matter for me. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. And as long as you LOVE each other then that is OK (did not marry just for the Green Card - joke

). We just got married recently (May 2007) and i may be a rookie on this matter, all i can say is that marriage is not a joke - you have to work for it and be patient, caring, understanding, trustful and loving.
Well, sorry if i sound "mushy". I just miss her so much!

Well you don't sound mushy, you sound like someone in love, and that my friend is what makes us all the same in this world. We are all rookies when it comes to love, no matter our age or length of relationship, everyday is a new experience and if we seek this out daily, our love for our asawa will only grow and grow and grow. Congrats and best wishes! Ingat ka palagi!

My guess is that the abundance of large gap couples in LDRs simply comes from availability. The number of older 35+ year-old foreigners looking for marriage in the Phils far outnumber the 20- something year-old competition... I remember going there when I was 28 and marriage was the farthest from my mind at that time.
So what does that leave us with? Predominantly older guys and young girls- that's who’s looking and that's what's readily available- so those are the ones hooking up.
If 20 something- year- old, ready to settle down foreigners suddenly entered the mix in numbers, you probably won't see as many large gap couples. The gaps would be more like you would find in local relationships.

I'll throw ours in... 1155 days difference. Or 3 years and 2 months. Between the two of us, we've now about waited almost exactly 50 years combined to be married to each other, or 18266.76 days. Do the math to find out our ages. I'm older.

I love mentioning her too

You should see her, she is a little bundle of dynamite full of all sorts of energy. She puts a smile on my face every day.
I really loved Camiguin. The next time we will go to Johnny's Dive shop next door to the Paras Beach Resort. The rooms are cheaper, the food is tons better and they have diving instruction and all sorts of diving exersions. We spent the day at White Island and I looked like a lobster afterwards
