Hi!
Well if you all remember i was freaking out a few months back about my daughters dental appointment.
Well the day has come lol.
She is going in at 2 oclock for a cavity filling.. its quite a big one and she will need sedation and a jab:(
I have been talking to her about it and reading dora books on it lol. She now thinks i adore dentists.. lol, i HATE them! I wanted to tell her what was going to happen instead of her going in all excited and then being upset. She seems almost happy about it.
She is 5 and is a mommys girl so it will be hard to not be allowed in there with her but i know she will be fine.
Wish me luck i am more nervous than her!
Anyone had this done with there child? Any advice?
Thanks:)

Im sure she will be fine, most dentists know how to handle the younger children, when i used to take mine they wouldnt let the mothers stay in the rooms. Guessing the kids act better when moms not around.

When my son was around 5 or 6 I took him to a dentist that specialized in children. He used NO2 before the novacaine and everything went well. My son had no complaints.

Awww, its good she doesnt have the fear we have about dentists. It's all about the mindset. Kids pick up on how to respond to new situations from their parents, so stay calm with her at least until she goes into the room and youa re left alone to panic in the waiting room! It's going to be harder on you than her!

All 3 of my kids have had fillings. Never once have they had novocaine or sedation. They all survived, no tears at all in fact.
I'm a firm believer that if the parent has a positive attitude about these things that it will carry over to the children. So relax, stay positive and you'll both be fine!
Good luck, Lizzy!!

my daughter went thru it with flying colors too. they make them out to be big kids and confort them. i was more afraid then she was. believe it or not she even liked the dentist. she would ask when her next visit was. she is braver then i am thats for sure.

I don't have kids, but I do know that kids get fillings all the time - and live to tell about it!
She'll be fine.
