Lets go over the things that need to be done by the Beneficiary to get the K1 Visa in Manila, Philippines, and what is the earliest each step can be done?

What do you have to have in order to be complete each step?

What can be done before receiving packet, and what must wait?

Help me put the pieces together for each step now that K1 is at the USE Manila.

Examples are (and what steps are missing?):

  • Collect Clearances and CENOMAR
  • Complete forms (DS-156, 156K, 157)
  • Medical
  • CFO (is this same as PRISM?) Does Beneficiary attended before seminary and/or counseling first then go back and get a stamp after visa is issued?
  • Interview
  • Anything Else?
If there is a flowchart breaking these steps down in detail, I haven't seen it yet, so ……

Please don't say use search feature or this has been gone over before.

If you can't be constructive, just ignore this post, LOL.

Thanks in advance for any help you may provide.

Respectfully,

Robert

I'm in the same boat.

I think the police background check, and the court check can also be done. Of course also gathering financial evidence and I 134.

You could draft new letters of intent to marry, as well as the cover letter and save them to your computer. You could also assemble more photos and print e-mails.

How about originals of birth certificates, and copies of all pages of passports for both of you.

That's all that comes to mind now, although I'm sure there's more... it's been a long day!

Good luck, good.gif

I think there is also a DS 203 part I and part II (this part gets signed at interview)

I got my side (USA) pretty well covered, new Original BC, Letters from Bank and Employers (have full and part time jobs) that need to be redone, I got them too early (LOL), original evidence of Both trips to PI, Copies of Passport pages notarized, Tax transcripts from IRS for 4 years notarized, Bank Statement, Certified copies of Divorce, More photos, e-mails, chat logs, snail mail. Also have New Letter of Intent, entire copy of K1 application. And Copies of car and motorcycle titles, plus mortgage balance and papers from house purchase/appraisal, etc. Waiting till interview is set to do I-134.

Trying to understand the Philippines side of process now.

Also, I thought the DS-230 was for K3 or for SO with kids?

Best wishes,

Robert

Hi there Robert! Since you got all the necessary documents well covered, how about making your fiancee attend the CFO seminar now? Once you got an idea of your medical and interview appointments, she can have her medical done earlier as well. Because it will take a while for her to receive the packet 4, where the appoint letter will be sent as well, she'll need to bring the hardcopy of your NOA2 and a print out from USE Manila website of her schedules for her to have medical done. Make her gather necessary documents for herself like police clearances, NBI, Cenomar and BC (in case they'll ask for it) and I think she can also start filling out forms at this time. We have close timeline and like you, I'm still waiting for my appointments but I've decided to take the CFO on mid April. I'm still waiting for my fiancee to send me the Tax transcripts, letter from his bank, I-134, etc, etc... While waiting, I'm compiling other documents that we can use for my interview and have started getting police certificates.

And yes, DS-230 is for K3.

I hope I was of help! Good luck!

You are definitely on top of things!(from one perfectionist to another)

I don't have any children, and am filing a K-1- the Turksih embassy requires DS 230, parts I and II.

Your embassy might be different.

Good Luck!

Hi Robert!

I hope this can help you and your Fiance:

1. If you didnt have Packet 4 yet just go to Manila US Embassy website and get the Packet 4 list - this will serve as your checklist

http://philippines.usembassy.gov/wwwfivk1.pdf

2. Go to designated bank Listed in Packet 4 and bring Php 5,000.00 - just to make sure.... e- rate depends on the bank

3. Get CENOMAR if you like ( cost 185 pesos and 30 days lead time ) - but they didnt ask for my CENOMAR

4. I had my CFO seminar after my medical in St Lukes - 2 pm @ Taft Ave Manila - PCI Bank Building 2nd Floor

5. After I received my Passport and Visa I went to CFO and got my sticker

Just take it easy... Dont get Nervous... Interview is very Easy if you just follow and complete the required DOCS from your packet 4.

God Bless

Lily
