My husband received his AOS approval (passport stamped) on March 20th. We went to the Social Security office yesterday to apply for a SSN. While the I-551 stamp in the passport is sufficient to apply, we were told that it takes "about 10 days" after the approval to be registered in "the system", thus we we would need to wait.

I guess we'll just hope the Green Card arrives soon, so we can get his SSN, and I can finish filing my taxes!!

That's right, flutter!

We may have not been given the correct information...but what's new, right? We'll go back once the Green Card is in hand and try again.

Sometimes it just doesn't matter if you do everything right. It's never just simple, is it??
