Why would you not bring it with you? (Out of curiosity) and...aren't you supposed to be able to prove your status at all times?

Posted also in your other posting...(K1 Forum)

Traveling from the US Mainland there isn't an immigration check going from or to Hawaii. But technically, if you are traveling, you should have it with you.

Meaning only carrying my driver's license is not enough, i still need to carry my passport!

The reason why I am asking is because I really don't want to accidently lose my passport if it is not required.

I've travelled to Hawaii probably 7 times without a passport. Its not needed for travel.

That said technically you are supposed to have your passport on you at all times if you're a non-resident alien in the USA. Still nobody I know sticks to that rule!
