Hello. I would like to brink my parents to US for a visit, but i don't know exactly how to complete the DS-156...for example, my parents don't have a fax no...so should i leave the space blak, or write NONE, or N/A? Pls anybody...this is confusing. They've never been in America, so to that question i select NO button, but then they ask about what type of visa they came here with huh.gif ...should i write N/A? helpsmilie.gif
Do this things actualy matter that much? If i leave blank space there where there is absolutly nothing to fill...would that be a problem?
Also, because i am a LPR and my husband is USC, he will complete Affidavit of Support. Does it matter?

thank you for any sugestions happy.gif

Kiddo,

Follow this link for help. You need to determine what course of action to do. There are immigrant VISAs, and non-immigrant VISAs. Before you can obtain one, there are many paperwork required to process the VISA at your parents' local US Consulate.

Do they need an affidavit of support, much better if they are able to pay for their own visit.

Yes, they will be paying for their own plane tickets, but my husband and i will be sending an affidavit of support just in case. I don't think it would hurt...to have something extra, just in case. They will only be coming here for a visit and to get to know my husband's side of the family:). Thank you for the replies guys. If you have any words of advice for me, or personal experiences to share when calling a family member for a visit, non imigrant visa, i wouild be happy to read.
