To cut a long story short, i was caught shoplifting 3 years ago. The officer did not arrest me or finger print me, he just gave me a ticket for tresspassing.. i did not have to go to court. He stated this would not go on my criminal record. So now i'm wondering, will the consular ask for a waiver even though there was no conviction? thanks for your help.

I would think that if it's not on your criminal record, you shouldn't have a problem.
