our lawyer has our packet with the interview letter, getting together all of our things so it'll be easier for us.

my husband just received our copy in the mail today.

i keep reading about bringing 230s or some form with us ON THE INTERVIEW DATE. but he says no forms were given, nothing mentioned about forms, just appointment letter and directions for passport pictures and medical.

is the checklist not actually a CHECK LIST? i saw older versions on the web of actual CHECK lists.

and forms we have to fill out and bring but date or something.

does the lawyer have this and we didnt get them? husband's going to the lawyer end of the week, but i dont know if i should be worried?

i'm so confused. are we supposed to wait for ANOTHER packet?

so all im supposed to bring is our birth certificates, marriage certificate, police clearance, medical, and passport pics? that sounds too easy.

There's a bit more than that....
DOS
DS156
DS156K
I 134

(Unless these have already been completed???)

Sorry,

I thought you were a K-1 .

I'm not sure what you are filing for I130? IN that case, I'm not sure

spousal visa. 130 already approved. all papers all sent in looooong time ago. feels ancient, hah. like a dozen originals of each cause everyone wanted originals, lol

During the K-1 process (I say this because I don't know how different yours is) we were advised to bring copies and/or originals of EVERYTHING we had filed thus far. You never know what may have been misplaced along the way (this has happened) and your having things on hand could help avert a delay.

They have everything you need.. but you have to sign the DS-230 Part II in front of them after they ask you the questions... I don't know if you sent in the DS-230 Part II with the stuff that you sent into the NVC or not.. or if you have to fill that out and bring it with you to the interview...

Except the medical I believe... that you bring with you...

But you also have to bring the originals of every form that you submitted to the NVC and with your petition...

yes, it gave us a list of all the documents they have from us, but didnt mention anything about copies or originals of forms. so there's nothing i have to file electronically? allllll forms? cause there have been like a dozen, since i used to live in US for 15 years before (legally. but long story, lol). like biographical forms and ALL? why dont they just give us a list, hah. i hope that's what the lawyer's doing right now. we sure have paid him enough headbonk.gif

what if some things have changed since the forms? they wont match the ones we sent in.

The interview is an excellent opportunity to correct changes in your paperwork.

why doesnt it say anywhere in my packet, my husband's packet, or the lawyer's packet that we need to bring 230 with us? unsigned and undated. why? ionly learned about it here. how would people know to do that? even if they brought one so they have all forms they've sent in, no one would think "oh i should bring an unsigned, undated one"

whyyyyyyy? lol. since apparantly it's so important. and yes, we have already sent in our 230, but it seems like regardless you still need to bring that special one

now i'm worried there are other forms i dont know i have to bring, or send in a special way, or bring with me unsigned.

i'm so stressed. sad.gif

also, i hear about sending in a checklist. we never had such an instruction, or checklist, just paragraph form of what we might be asked for.

are all these extra things ive read on this site only for fiance visas and not spousal visas? please help someone who went through a spousal visa
flowingly
why was this topic moved? i need specific help from people who are going to montreal. this isnt general, it's as specific as it gets about montreal.

huh.gif

please, move back :/ my interview is soon and my lawyer is of no help, and the packet from montreal is of little help. i need to know what forms to bring to MONTREAL

:/

It would help to know what consulate you are going through. Each consualte sets its own rules for what documents they want to see.

ETA: OOps now I see you are going through Montreal.

Hi flowingly,

Did you apply for CR1 visa (Conditional Spouse of US Citizen)? I applied for that and the Packet 4 that they've sent me contains checklist, requirements for medical and reminders on the interview. There were no forms that'll be filled out or anything like that.

My checklist goes like this:

Document Name Status Description

OF-169 Y Yes/Document complete/reviewed
OF-230-I Y Yes/Document complete/reviewed
OF-230-II Y Yes/Document complete/reviewed
Passport Y Yes/Document complete/reviewed
Birth Certificate Y No/Document/Missing
Adoption E Exempted/ Document not needd
Marriage Certificate O Original Docuement received
Marriage Termination E Exempted/Document not needed
Court Records E Exempted/Document not needed
Financial Evidence Y Yes/Document complete/reviewed
Custody Papers E Exempted/Document not needed
Military Records E Exempted/Document not needed
Canada Police Certificate O Original Document Received
Philippines Police O Original Document Received
Certificate E Exempted/Document not needed
IRS waiver

From my own interpretation, (please don't think that this is the correct one, I advise if you want to make sure, call your lawyer/embassy to confirm) the documents that says YES means that they already have it/reviewed it. I remember my lawyer sent me the 230-I and let me fill it out myself. She didn't asked me to fill out the 230-II. I'm also confused about that because, to my knowledge, 230-I comes along with 230-II. Anyways, I'm going to ask my lawyer about that and if I get an answer I'll let you know. I'm planning to bring everything I have even if it says they already reviewed it.

So, good luck to you and I hope everything will be fine for both of us!
