Hi guys,

Have a question?
My wife already sent her I-751 to VSC at Dec 12th , 2006. Her green card has expaired on March 11th 2007 (she has a letter saying that her green card extended for one more year as usual). Now the question is " she should go for infopass to stamp her passport or leave it alone even though her passport stamp expired" and another question is "if she goes for stamp on her passport, is there going to be any problem because her passport 551 stamp has expired".

Thanks in advance.

The local office won't give a stamp unless she has a burning need for travel or employment evidence.

The expired card + the letter (save a copy!) are evidence of her status.

I agree, and this happened to me. I wanted to have my passport stamped, so I can extend an invitation for my mom to come for a visit (less paperwork for me to scan and send)..so I went with my infopass appointment and the officer was such a ..... difficult with an attitude and basicly said to me that according to the rules bla bla bla my extension letter is enough proof of my legal status in the states, even if I want to travel or whatever. I said I was just trying to make it easier, to what she replied verbatim "There is not such a thing like easy in the immigration" and gave me a look "anything else?".

Hi Tata,

Thanks you very much for the reply. We are in same situation as yours. My wife is five and a half months pregnant and we are thinking to bring her mom around the due time. So we were thinking to sent all the papers including copy of her passport (551 stamp would have been good).
