Hello everyone smile.gif

My I-130 was approved 03-09-2007 (sent in originally on 12-29-2006)

Needs to go eventually to Bogota, Colombia Embassy.

How much more time left before the interview for my Colombian wife?

Anybody with Bogota experience know current approx. processing times?

Thanks in advance!

Cheers!

Visa Journey has an excellent resource called Immigration Timelines, just use them and filter for your particular consulate, and do a little math in my case I was able to figure out an interview date within about 10 days. http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/

By the way why don't you contribute to the fine resource, and start a timeline of your own?

Congratulaions and best wishes for the rest of the process. Praying for you both that you can be together soon here in the US and begin the rest of your lives.

Sorry, I screwed up the previous reply. Our interview date in Bogota was scheduled approximately 5 months after the I-130 was approved. With luck you might get an interview a couple of weeks sooner than that, but not much sooner going by the current timeframes. It could also be several weeks more if you do not use James Shortcuts or if something was missing or incomplete in your submissions to NVC. The interview is normally scheduled 1.5 - 2 months after NVC completes the case. Good luck with everything.

Thanks for the tip on the timelines, I did not see that feature. I was a bit scared by reading all the horror stories
here about waiting for an interview, after the I-130 is approved! Waits of 9 months or more, so I was curious
if anybody had experience with a Colombian spouse.

Sorry about my timeline, it is fixed now. I assumed peeps were getting the info from the USCIS site and cutting&pasting it here. The USCIS site has not worked for me at all, so I had nothing to cut&paste. sad.gif

(Yes, I am set up and everything...) All the USCIS website ever sez for me is:

"Receipt Number: WAC07061XXXXX
Application Type: I130, IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E), OR ORPHAN
Current Status: Document OTHER THAN CARD manufactured and mailed.
On January 23, 2007, we mailed the document..."

Anyway, I just discoved the editing portion of this board and set up my timeline in my sig as well.

Sorry for my poor table manners.

I sincerely appreciate your reply. This board is indeed an invaluable resourse.

Kindest Regards,

cartagena2112,

Depends. How fast are you going to reply to the mailings you're going to get from the NVC with regard to the visa application?

There's a lot that happens between petition approval and visa interview, and some of it depends entirely on you and your spouse.

Look at my timeline or signature below and you can see how long it took for me. About the same as Floridaphoto as we have been about two weeks apart on everything since day one. Others in Bogota have been about the same as well. Go to the Cr-1 thread Colombia Club in the Embassy section for some good details on the process from this point forward for you. There are two Colombia Clubs so make sure you look at the one for CR-1 not K-3, Good luck to you.
