I just received my NOA2 yes.gif for my I-130 and on the form it says "We have sent the original visa petition to the Department of State National Visa Center Portsmouth, NH".

If I read this correctly...does this mean they sent my I-130 to NVC for processing? My I-129F is still at CSC waiting for approval. I read here on VJ that most recent filers had their I-130 retained in favor of the I-129F. I wonder if my I-130 will actually show up at the NVC in the next few weeks? Is this a general statement on all I-130's or should I start gathering necessary docs?

Congrats on your I-130 approval!!!!! I believe USCIS are still retaining the I-130 approvals but only if both were approved at the same time.

Mine was retained and we're still waiting for the I-129F. I guess if they see you have a I-129F pending they hold it.

Wow, that's really not the way it's supposed to work. I'm sorry for your bad luck sad.gif It is possible that it is just taking a long time for your petition to be forwarded to the NVC, I've seen some take months. What did your NOA2 say?

I'm kinda hoping that my I-129F is not approved anytime soon.....this way maybe they will send my I-130 to the NVC. devil.gif I will check with the NVC later this week to see if they received it.

I'm also curious about what other peoples I-130's form says.

My I130 also said that "the above petition has been approved and was forwarded to the National Visa Center"..... they even use the form of "to be" in the past tense (at least they could say it will be sent or something).....needless to say, it was never sent and, even when I inquired about it, I was told that since the NOA2 says it was sent, then it was.....which again, never happened.....they seem to be confused about their new policy.
