Some folks have been wondering about the wait in other catagories, well here is my tale. My father petitioned me July 29, 2002. I was approved March 13, 2007. My father died March 23, 2005. If you are waiting to get an I - 130 through anyone by way of marriage, engagement, or you are the "alien" parent of an American citizen, the wait is horrific. I have added this just for information purposes.

Gosh, that is both tragic and unfortunate for your immigration process, carslo. Now what?

My fiance is in the final months of his California divorce, and we will start a Visa JOurney for a K1 as soon as we are able to. If my father's petition had not been so slow, I would have gone and my fiance and I would have most likely not married. He loses so much in the divorce process, but he was willing to go ahead with us getting married once my father had passed, and I had time to complete my BA degree - at 49 yrs old smile.gif That is what I did while waiting to immigrate. I went back to university so I could get a better job when I finally get to the USA.

Hello

I'm very sorry to hear about your father. I applied for my daughter in June 2005 and so the long wait is in progress, but knowing how long it took for you to get approved gives a timeline, and also hope, for those of us who are waiting. Thank you for posting.
