Nah, I don't really get it. I meant them the first time!

Plus, I'm not really big into ceremony...

Probably 25th anniversary. We're both going to be pretty old by then (we're both 51 now), but I think it's a nice idea for a 25th wedding anniversary.
I doubt my husband cares either way. He would do it for me, but certainly he wouldn't initiate it himself.

I voted no too, We didn't have "vows" the first time so certainly wouldnt want to renew them. BUT I always love a party!

We already plan on doing this, to have something for all our US friends and family (most of whom weren't able to make it to our wedding in England). The rough aim is sometime in 2008, to give us time to save and plan for it, and hopefully I'll be wearing a snazzy uniform by then too ;-)

Yes, I would like to renew. We just had the JP and a few people to get married. I would like something a little bigger and more special. I'm not really into the whole white dress and church wedding. We spent our wedding night at a Plantation outside of New Orleans, that might be nice, or maybe in the backyard.

If we have any type of wedding, that's what it's going to be. Maybe 5 years in.

Hi Everyone,
Good luck on your immigration journeys. What an interesting message thread and poll, indeed! In answer to the question, yes I would renew my vows with my husband. I'm not sure when though, but we'll do it sometime in the future when we think our vows need renewing. It would be nice too renew our vows in a different place, as that adds a bit of variety in our marriage too (although I still like the place we first got married in).
When we first got married, the ceremony was very spontaneous, as we only had one week to decide to get married, make wedding plans, and go through with everything. Also, it was very small attendance-wise too (immediate family on his side only). But if I had to do it again, I'd probably do it in a spontaneous similar way, as my husband and I are spontenous people!
Renewing the vows reaffirms the commitment and the love that we have for each other, and that's the most imporant thing, indeed!

The only ones from his family that were able to attend were his parents. We've talked about a reaffirmation ceremony when we're able to go home again, for the reasons stated above. Of course, depending on the time of year it is will determine what I wear.

Renewing our vows this August for our 1 year anniversry so all our friends and family can be there. It was to expensive for everyone to fly to JA for our wedding. This time it is real cheap IPOD music, good food and reception/saying of the vows at the farm.

Maybe we would. Somewhere outside, a nice wood or something. With the birds a tweeting and the wind rustling through the leaves.

We did.
First we had the civil wedding (magistrate). About 5 months after that we had the church ceremony with our family and friends and we found out that it was called Renewal of Vows. We enjoyed that so much that we won't be adverse to having it again ... maybe every five years?

(ok, maybe after 25 years would be more reasonable).

Maybe (if my wife really wanted it and if it didn't cost me much).
Other - I don't really know.

My first husband and I did it. My second husband and I will do it again when he comes, insha'allah.
