Abygail
Hi again,

I guess I should start a new thread, since this is a different subject. I just realized I sent our I-751 in with a few blanks, and yes I do realize how dumb that was! I'm really upset at myself and stressing out about this, wondering what USCIS will do with our petition... I hope they don't deny it. I had left blank the cells for other names, USC A#, and kids. Does anyone know what might happen, or if others have done this without problems? Thanking you in advance for any help you can offer to calm my nerves, PLEASE ohmy.gif sad.gif .

Abygail
(Oh, I just want this to be over and we just started again!)

There is nothing you can do about it right now. In the best case scenario your case will land on the desk of a very understanding and cooperative reviewer and he will overlook the missing data and approve you anyway. The worst case: you will get an RFE and it will delay your case a little bit. Be prepared and fill in a new I751 without leaving anything blank, so in case you get an RFE for it you can send the reply out the same day.

We haven't heard anything back from our application yet...but we also didn't fill in some of the blanks with n/a....just put a line through it. I am sure it is ok. Good luck.

I just thought about this: possible scenario 3: The people in the mailroom look over your petition, find the missing data on the form and not accept your petition. In that case you will have your packet back soon. You will just have to resubmit then.
Abygail
Thanks tweety & JT4/25-
It helps to know others opinions! I'm so bummed out, we're really off to a bad start with this I-751 process (husband losing card, & now I screwed up on the form). I know we'll just have to wait and see---

I would be ready to resubmit the I-751 application with all the information filled in, just in case you get an RFE because of the missing information.

The worst that can happen is that your case will be delayed a little, until you send in the required information.

Once you get your NOA, you will have a year's extension on your GC, and are work and travel authorized.

If this happens, any thoughts on how soon we might get it back?

Abygail,
I can guarantee that one of two things will now happen:

1-you will get an RFE

2-your case will process exactly like normal

I imagine that you will be able to deal with either of those outcomes. smile.gif

Sit back and think good thoughts, since there is nothing else you can do about it in this moment.

Thanks again, and I'll try to chill out and stop being such a worry wort blush.gif . I still wonder about the scenario below?

Well common sense tells me it's basically the mail times and the time spent in the mailroom. I'd estimate 2-3 days for mail to get to service center, may-be 1-2 days for mailroom and another 2-3 days to sent back. 1-2 weeks total I'd estimate. (but I don't know the inner workings of the service center to give you a really good answer on this).

Just don't get too crazy over the whole situation. You can't do anything right now but sit and wait. Prepare that corrected I751 so you have it handy in case you're required to send it in. That's it then. Sit back and relax.

I still wonder about the scenario below?

Those kinds of missing items have not been cause for a petition to be returned in the past.

Abygail
I just checked on our I-751 package that I sent overnight via USPS and got this:

"Notice Left - We attempted to deliver your item at 10:59 AM on March 13, 2007 in MESQUITE, TX 75185 and a notice was left. A second delivery attempt will be made. If unsuccessful, we will hold it for five business days and then it will be returned to the sender. Information, if available, is updated every evening. Please check again later."

Is this maybe because it's a PO Box and I should have checked the box to waive signature??? Should I try contacting the USPS and have them return the package to me and not wait 5 business days?

I know I'm going a little crazy, so please bear with me.

I have read older posts in this forum, I have found people who did mistakes when filling the form
and were approved with no problems...

I think that people do mistakes, errors, I just hope they send the RFE's or just correct by themselves LOL

If I can remember, when we were going trhough the K1 process, years ago, I did send a correction
for a form, I just don't remember what field was wrong...

Now, that I sent the I-751, I have not find any info on how to send corrections...

It would be nice if we had this option....

Anybody have input on the postal service? Think I should try to have the package returned if they can't deliver on the 2nd attempt, or will the service center pick it up at the post office?

I would call UPS and try to get my package back and correct it. Since there is possibility REF or approved with out any problem. Why take stress. Just get back the package, if you can and correct it.
Thanks, hope the best for you.

Well, I'm trying to get through to their local post office, since the 800# told me they'd be holding express mail there for PO boxes - maybe I can just have them return it to me?
