I have read the posts about islamabad embassy in Pakistan. In my own experience, they are horrible. They don't respond via phone(nobody picks it at the embassy) and they don't answer emails often. It is been around couple of months and since my wife hasn't got her visa interview date. On their own website, it is written that they will schedule visa in few days after getting all the paperwork, which they had got more than a month ago. Is there anything, I can do to get her visa expedited or atleast get some sort of answer from them when they would schedule it? I am very frustrated with them. Does somebody has similar experience with them?

I am US citizen and my wife visa category is IR1.

A few days would be unusual anywhere.

Mine was nearly 2 months, seems to vary not only by Embassy but by time of year.

Sorry to hear of the delays but this is normal for this embassy and I know personally how you are feeling. In our case the embassy did not schedule my husband's CR1 for 6 months which is a little long of a wait but they are understaffed and they are scheduling usually within 3 - 5 months from the time the information is received at the embassy.

If i tell it to my wife, she may get a heart attack. How come F1, H1 and K3 are faster and CR1 so long? In my communication to them, i found them very unprofessional. They will refuse to do something, and when I write a very strong email, they quickly back away from their position and do it.

I am thinking of quitting my job and stay with my wife in pakistan, Or go to canada. My wife and I have canadian green cards also. I do have US citizenship. Any suggestion about it?

Was 2 months after u sent them completed packet 3.5? In my case, it is more than 1 month *after* I sent them completed packet 3.5.

CR 1 takes longer since you will have your AOS approved before coming to the USA. Means you can work without having to file for work authorization. This is very hard and longer processing for married couples. Emails from the embassy are usually canned responses I have found from myself and others that went thru Islamabad. Usually the women can have their cases moved up if they have an opening earlier. The men are the one's that have the longer times and AR/AP from the embassy. I suggest your next email be sweet and short to the point. example:

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am asking for you to consider moving my wife's CR1 interview up to the earliest available opening that you have now. Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.
