Many people have mentioned that the time it takes to schedule an interview for either a K3 interview or a CR-1 interview varies by the Embassy.

Any couples who can share their recent experience as it relates to getting a visa appointment (K3 or CR-1) in Mumbai after NVC approval?

Wow! So from a NOA2 received on Dec 21st 2006, the interview in Mumbai was set for May 2nd 2007! That's about 4 whole months!!! Is that normal?

Receiving an NOA2 from one of the Service centers is just the first step in the process. There is a second set of processes you need to go through where you need to submit an Affidivit of Support, DS230, collecting police cleareance certificates from the local police station and the passport office etc.. which needs to be submited to either the consulate or the NVC depending which visa you are applying for... only after your file is sent to the consulate will your interview be scheduled. I went the CR1 route, check out my time line from when I got the NOA2.
