We had a baby in the Philippines about the time that my wife's US Visa arrived.
It took 3 weeks to get a NSO birth certificate, which was required to file to report a birth of a US citizen abroad. It took the embassy till today, about 1 month, to get the baby passport to us. On hearing the passport was in the mail, I obtained plane tickets for about a week from now.
Here is the problem.
The passport came with a little slip of paper in it that said I need to get an exit permit for the baby, with a phone number and address.
It is Thursday night in the Philippines. If it is going to take time to get the thing, then the wife should go there first thing in the morning, and be there when they open.
If it is quick with no lines, or if it can be handled somehow in the airport, then I need to know now so I can tell her what to do next.
I googled "exit permit" and "Philippines" and got nothing at all relevant.
Anyone have experiance with this?
