That's good news Briluke Hyla. It means that someone is finally is looking at your waiver. It might mean an approval soon. Or least I hope you get an approval soon.
briluke_nyla
I hope I get an approval soon, but deep down I don't think it's going to happen. I'm keeping my fingers crossed though!

Look at it in a positive light. Info out there for approvals for Canadian waivers is 1 year. You're almost at that one year mark. There is a light at the end of the tunnel. I'm sure you've got an approval coming. I have my fingers crossed for you too.

We got another touch!! God I hope this means something is happening!!!!!!!!!!

so have you heard anything? We have nothing yet. I have to call the lawyer Monday and get on them to find something out for me. Fingers crossed for you guys.
briluke_nyla
Nope, still nothing. Got the two touches and that's it. I wish they'd just tell me something, anything at this point! Good luck to you, I hope your case is resolved soon!

GOOD LUCK!!!

Got another touch today! Do you think that if the IO cleans his/her desk and moves it that they count it as touched?? (just kidding)
They are sending me on a roller coaster of emotions with all the touches lately!

Our I601 waiver was touched today but when we called Vermont they weren't able to tell us anything. I'll update our horror story later. Right now just wondering if you had any new with your wiaver? Have you gotten anything in the mail?
briluke_nyla
I haven't received anything. I just keep getting touches. I'm hoping it means they are doing something, but after 3 weeks of it, I'm not so sure any more.

Application Type: I601, APPLICATION TO WAIVE EXCLUDABILITY

Current Status: Notice returned as undeliverable.

On March 1, 2007, the post office returned our last written notice on this case as undeliverable. This can have serious effects on the processing of this case. Please call 1-800-375-5283 to update the mailing address so this notice can be re-sent.

that is the most recent notice on my case. I am having serious blood pressure issues dealing with Montreal about this and Vermont. My shotty lawyer/paralegal screwed up and didn't mail the change of address form when they were suppose to( over a year ago, I might add) and this is the end result. We keep calling to get information on what is missing and to do a change of address but no such luck. As it stand right now we might get denied because this is the third and final notice that has been returned to Vermont. I am not a happy camper by any means. When hubby was finally able to reach a customer serive rep we were informed that we had 30 days from March 1st to get our missing paperwork to Vermont before we'd be denied. HOWEVER the really nice people in Vermont wont tell up what the RFE is for so...... we're fu#*ed. There's my wonderful story. If it wasn't for all my bad luck I'd have no luck at all. So keep your chin up, you're in a better place than I am. I'm sure you're approval is coming soon.

Oh wow. I am so sorry that you had such a bad lawyer. Ours wasn't the greastest either, but not to that extent. Have you tried a three-way call to Vermont with you, hubby and Vermont? They may be more willing to give the information to you rather than your husband. Perhaps with the information about the wrong address and the lawyer not sending the forms in, they'd grant you a bit of an extention? It would be worth a try any way. I am truly sorry for your situation and I hope there is a way you can resolve it.

We have tried three way calling, it really depends on who we talk to, and the resulting flow of information. Sometimes people are really helpful other times they are not. All I can say is that this is a NIGHTMARE, one we were not expecting. We been told that we'd be granted an extension but who knows with the USCIS. They say one things and do another. But it's just funny how nothing has gone right with our case since the begining. Montreal is as helpful as a tit on a boar hog! Some really bitchy people working there. So were back to waiting, our favourite game. How's your petition coming alone. Have you been able to talk to a live person? Any news about an approval? Have you been touch again?

briluke_nyla
I haven't talked to anyone. My husband called once but of course they wouldn't tell him anything. My last touch was friday the 23rd, no approval as of yet. I am hoping one of these time the touch will be something of significance.

Have you tryed doing the three way call with Vermont? My husband found that the only way we got any info was if the two of us were on the line. He called and called Vermont but no one would talk to him till we did a three way. It's stupid seeing that he's filing the petiton and waiver for me. We're anxiously waiting for mail from Vermont, BUT nothing yet.

From what I've read here, we're the only ones who have a waiver petiton pending in Vermont. Have you been over to immigrate 2 us? I just can't believe it's taking this long.
briluke_nyla
No we haven't tried the three way call yet. I have a tough time being able to as we have a 2 year old daughter that consumes most of my time. I have been to immigrate2US, I go by Nylanad on there. I think there are a few others besides us...I just can't remember who. Yah, when I filed it they told me 3-6 months...I never would have guessed it would be a year. It was one year today that I had my interview and submitted my waivers. That's rather depressing!
geronimostyle
I have my wife's 601 pending at Vermont. She is stuck in Toronto with our 2 year old son.
Her receipt date is April 28, 2006. Last touched on Feb 22, 2007. That was the first and last
touch in 11 months.

She maintains a minimal lifestyle over there. I maintain a minimal lifestyle over here.
The rest of the money goes to airlines, phone bills, and for rent, food, gas, utilities to keep
the two households running.

if only I could spell....

This whole waiver process is stressful. I have read a few posts from others stating that they're not that anxious about the process and are living their lives as usually as they wait and I think to myself how can you not be stressed. But than again they're probably not dealing with Canada and a waiver filed here. It's stupid that we have to wait over a year to get a damn waiver approved. It's really stupid that there's a toll free number for a service center that we cannot call from Canada. WTF! I'm surprised at how hard it is to get anyone to help you at the Consulate; there are some MEAN women there! I've dealt with a lot of women operators and not that many of them have been helpful or very friendly.

My husband and I are also maintaining two households. It gets to be expensive, two mortgages, two cars, phone bills etc. However, I am lucky. My husband has to fly to Canada, he’s able to visit frequently and flights here aren’t that expensive.

When we started this process, we were told 6-9 months by our very competent (yeah right) lawyer. Yeah 6 to 9 months alright my ###, it's going on three years and still nothing. And if I wasn’t as anal retentive about calling Vermont, we would have never found out about the missing paperwork. Our case would have been denied because we failed to respond to the RFE’s and you know the rest. And there's still the possibly that we could be denied and then we'd have to file an appeal. This is absolutely ridiculous. Yeah I do have my own life here, my friends and family are near by, but I’d like to be back our home in Louisiana. I feel as though it’s time to go home. I don’t mean to complain too loudly cause I am very lucky to have my home, health, friends, family and job but I had that in the States too. I wish I had a magic wand…….
