Kik and I are having the amnio done on Friday and we are both very nervous about the baby and its health etc....Appreciate The VJ gang sending some good thoughts on Friday..We are stressed..big time...party time...show time and then some...

Don't know how it is in the states, but in Canada, if your over 35 they require you to have amnio, if there's a family history of a defect or if its considered a high risk pregnancy.
I had a amnio with my first but unfortunetly there are risks involved with the test and it made me misscarry.
My Second pregnancy was also considered high risk and I had amnio again ( albeit very nervously) and it was fine.Had total bed rest thru-out pregnancy. Had my little girl with no problems.

Yep, over 35.
It is not required, but recommended.....and we chose to have it done.

Yup, same as where I am from.

If your over 35 they will give you one.

My girlfriend had two done. She was 38 carrying her first child, and 41 carrying the second baby.

She had three miscarrages before finally having two healthy babies.

Hi folks..thanks for the kind words..I was amazed looking at the baby moving around...and I mean moving around like a gymnast on the ultrasound...Nerve wracking to be sure...but once we getb the amnio results I will be a little more at ease...
