Hi,

My wife and 20 year old step-daughter got their K-3 visa. Now USCIS has denied I-130 for my step-daughter because she did not become my step-daughter before she was 18 years old. So other in words, she can come in the country but she can not become a resident. Is there any way around this??

Your wife can sponsor her once she becomes a US Citizen... I suggest that you speak with an attorney to find out what you can do... there have been others who have been caught in this predicamant including a user known as Girona40.

From my experience, she will just have to go through the steps as if she came here on her own. They denied it because she was on adult when she got here. I would just make a quick call to an immigration attorney to verify.
