Can anyone please tell me the difference between i-130 and i-129F i was told that the i-129F don't really matter. Is that true

Thanks alot.......All i wanted is right now our i-130 has been approved but the i-129F is still pending and my wife called the USCIS and they told her that the i-129F dont really matter that i should receive a packet from the US Embassy over here any moment from now for my Interview. Can that be?

actually for the I-130, there will be stuff sent to the petitioner (I'm guessing your wife in this case) to do first, before you get anything from the consulate. She'll have to complete the affidavit of support stuff, and a couple other things I think before you get the interview notice.

It'll be a couple or few months still, but you're in the home stretch anyway.
